Elk Lick Children's Den, Chantilly

Elk Lick Children's Den is a licensed child care and preschool program in the South Riding area of Chantilly, VA. Our home-based daycare is located right off Elk Lick Road and Tall Cedars Parkway, near Hutchison Farm Elementary School and the South Riding Market Square. Our doors are open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, providing flexible options for parents who need reliable child care within the community. Our daycare offers full-time care, part-time care, as well as a drop-in care option for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Our facility is a peanut-free and tree nut-free environment, and we provide nutritious lunches and snacks (included in the tuition).

Our curriculum is a blend of play-based and academic learning. We focus on the basics of Math and Science, while also nurturing literacy through phonics, reading, and writing. Daily activities are adjusted based on the age groups currently enrolled, ensuring that every child receives age-appropriate learning experiences. Children at our daycare enjoy a variety of fun activities, from building with Legos to expressing their creativity through coloring. We also have a fenced backyard with play equipment for fun outdoor play, when the weather is nice!

Hi parents! I'm the owner and main caregiver of this intimate child care facility. After spending 25 years as a public school teacher, the birth of my own child inspired a shift in my career. I wanted a job that allowed me more time with my child and greater flexibility in my daily schedule. This desire led to the opening of my own in-home daycare 15 years ago! I run the program with two experienced child care assistants, in order to offer personalized, attentive care to each little student who enrolls with us. Witnessing the development and joy of the children we teach is what fuels our dedication every single day.
