We are excited to be going on our fourth year of business. My curriculum addresses the needs of the whole child. I follow the NC Foundations curriculum, a guideline for teaching early childhood education. Goals are aligned to common core. I acknowledge the fact that all children develop differently. I have no norms or guidelines that they must follow. The children’s activities will focus on their environment. There will be hands-on, creative experiences. I will focus on art, music, science, and dramatic play activities that will reinforce play-based learning. There will be seven learning centers in the classroom. They are: library, music, math manipulatives, art, dramatic play, cozy center, science. The manipulative area will be rearranged frequently. I believe that learning should be integrated and that all areas can and should overlap. Children learn through play and will be given concrete activities and experiences in which to learn.
