Kemp Mill Playhouse is a licensed home-based daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. My child care facility is located in the Kemp Mill Hills neighborhood, just 2 minutes away from Arcola Ave and University Blvd W (route 193). Your daily commute to work will be convenient since I’m between Georgia Ave (route 97) and Colesville Rd (US-29).

About Me:
I’m the owner and main caregiver of the loving, nurturing and safe family child care program. I’m a licensed provider and early educator with 7 years of professional experience. Before opening my own daycare, I was a nanny for 5 years and worked for another daycare for almost 2 years.
I also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, a Child Development Associate’s Degree and I’m currently getting a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition to my credentials, I’m CPR & First-aid certified so you can be sure that your little one is safe with me.
Program:
Kemp Mill Playhouse is open all-year from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time care for infants as young as 1 week, as well as toddlers through preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. Morning and afternoon snacks are already included in the tuition and provided to all kids in my care.
At my daycare, we follow the Play-based early learning teaching philosophy, and I keep children engaged in many fun, educational activities like music, circle time, shapes, numbers, colors, tracing activity, and arts & crafts. I also have a library area where I read books with them. If weather permits, I bring the kids to my private backyard playground where we spend our outdoor playtime!
Safety:
The safety of every child is one of my top priorities. At my daycare, we wash our hands regularly, especially after every activity. I also check the temperature if a child is not feeling well.

We were so sad when our son's first daycare closed right around his 2nd birthday, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise - This provider is even better! You can tell just how much she cares about each child and we can hear the kind way she speaks about them from the things our son says at home (we can always tell when he is mimicking her!). We enjoy seeing his art projects every day and hearing all the new things he is learning, too.

The owner has created a wonderful nurturing environment in her in-home daycare. She and her assistant have helped my daughter grow from a shy 1 year old who couldn’t even walk into a confident, joyful 2 year old who can run, climb and tell you almost anything she wants to. I cannot say enough good things about this caregiver and her care! She and her staff treasure each child they work with, and my kid is always smiling when we drop him off and pick him up. It's so good to know he is thriving in this warm and supportive environment!

Our experience we wonderful. It only became abundantly apparent to us how much our son felt loved when he left to transition to the same school as his brother. He placed his head on the caregiver's forehead and said goodbye in the most intimate way. He shared moments with her that will be memories for a life time. Some people just have a gift when it comes to child care. This caregiver is one of those people. Our 2 year old had not been in daycare before coming to this daycare. They greeted him with so much love every morning. We loved this caregiver! She was great for Emma. She followed the Covid guidelines which was awesome. From the minute we left Emma at her house, we did not worry about Emma because she took such great care of her. Emma loved going to daycare! Thank you!

This provider definitely is experienced in what she does. My son has improved so much in just about 3 months and is so happy to pick up his lunch bag to go learn something new each day. I will definitely recommend.

This is a wonderful daycare, with a focus on learning, fun, and lots of time outdoors. My son has thrived here! We came from a larger daycare, and he enjoys this small one much more - he also learns more and is developing deeper friendships. Highly recommend!
