Welcome to Engleside Village Playhouse, our bilingual daycare and preschool located in the welcoming Engleside Village neighborhood of Alexandria, VA. Our in-home child care program is conveniently located near Richmond Highway (US 1) and Fairfax County Parkway (SR 286), making us easily accessible to families in the surrounding area.
We are also less than 5 minutes from Woodlawn Elementary School and Woodlawn Park. Our neighborhood setting offers families the comfort of a small, home-based daycare while remaining close to major roads and local destinations.
Our Spanish bilingual daycare program is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We offer full-time and part-time child care for infants as young as 6 weeks old, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children up to 10 years old.
Healthy, well-balanced meals and snacks are provided to all children enrolled at Engleside Village Playhouse at no additional cost. Our small family child care setting allows us to provide attentive care while creating a warm and familiar environment for every child.
Hi, parents! 👋 I am the proud owner and primary caregiver at Engleside Village Playhouse. My passion for working with children inspired me to open my own daycare and provide families in my community with a safe, loving, and bilingual environment.
I bring more than 28 years of hands-on child care experience, a bachelor’s degree in law, and certifications in CPR and First Aid. I strive to create a welcoming space where children feel secure and excited to learn, play, and grow. Through nurturing care and meaningful daily experiences, children can build confidence while developing important social, emotional, and language skills.
Every day brings new opportunities to celebrate each child’s progress, from small accomplishments to important developmental milestones. It is a privilege to be part of those moments and to support children as they discover new abilities and interests.

Our daily activities at Engleside Village Playhouse are thoughtfully designed to nurture each child’s curiosity, confidence, and overall development through a balanced combination of learning and play. A consistent daily routine helps children develop positive habits, greater independence, and a reassuring sense of stability.
Each morning begins with circle time, when children are warmly welcomed and encouraged to connect with one another. They sing songs in both Spanish and English, discuss the day’s weather, and have opportunities to share their thoughts and feelings. These meaningful interactions help strengthen communication skills, build self-confidence, and create a sense of community.
Children then participate in hands-on learning experiences such as arts and crafts, playdough activities, sensory play, and exploration with materials featuring a variety of textures. These engaging activities support fine motor development while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and imagination.
Interactive storytime further enriches each child’s learning by supporting language development, strengthening listening skills, and helping build a foundation for early literacy. The combination of English and Spanish throughout the day also gives children regular exposure to both languages in a natural and supportive setting.
When the weather permits, children enjoy our large, fenced backyard, where they have space to run, explore, play games, and strengthen their coordination through physical activity. Healthy meals and snacks are served throughout the day, along with regular handwashing as part of our daily routine.
During quiet time, our separate nap room provides a calm and comfortable place for children to rest and recharge. By combining engaging learning experiences with nurturing care, we create a welcoming environment where every child is treated like family and has a safe place to build confidence, form friendships, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
