Welcome to Fairfield Kids Playhouse, my intimate family child care and preschool program in Alexandria, VA. I’m located in the Fairfield neighborhood, near Mount Vernon Woods Elementary School (between Muddy Hole Farm Park and Mt Vernon Woods Park). My home is very accessible to all commuters as I have easy access to Richmond Hwy (US-1), Telegraph Rd (route 611), and Jeff Todd Way.
Fairfield Kids Playhouse is a Spanish bilingual program open year-round from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer both full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 3 months old, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. We also offer before and after school care for school-aged children.
For children enrolled full-time, we provide healthy organic meals, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks, all included in the tuition! To help ensure a safe environment for all children, especially those with allergies, we maintain a peanut- and tree nut-free facility. Fairfield Kids Playhouse proudly accepts child care vouchers and subsidy programs to help make quality child care more affordable and accessible for the families in our community. We are committed to supporting parents by working with eligible assistance programs so that more children can benefit from a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment.
Hello parents! 👋 I’m the owner and primary caregiver of Fairfield Kids Playhouse, with over 18 years of experience in early childhood education. Caring for children has always been my passion, which inspired me to open my own home daycare. Before starting Fairfield Kids Playhouse, I worked at different child care centers and preschools, gaining valuable experience caring for children of different ages and needs.
I’m also a parent myself, a proud mom of three children, ages 8, 17, and 21, so I truly understand how difficult it can feel to leave your little one in someone else’s care. That understanding motivated me to take extra steps to give parents peace of mind by becoming certified in CPR, First Aid, and MAT (Medication Administration Training). My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where your child feels comfortable, supported, and cared for like family. If you choose Fairfield Kids Playhouse, I will care for your child as if they were my own.
My program follows a Montessori-inspired curriculum designed to support and enrich your child’s learning and development. I provide a wide variety of engaging, hands-on activities for children of all ages, including reading, science, early math, music, arts and crafts, yoga, gymnastics, outdoor play, summer-themed activities, and sensory experiences for infants.
As a bilingual Spanish daycare program, I introduce the children to both English and Spanish through everyday conversations, activities, and learning experiences. This natural approach helps children build language skills in a fun and meaningful way, giving them the wonderful opportunity to become bilingual at an early age.
At Fairfield Kids Playhouse, the health and safety of every child is a top priority. We practice healthy habits to help prevent the spread of viruses and germs. Temperatures are checked at drop-off, handwashing is encouraged regularly throughout the day, and toys are cleaned daily. In addition, all toys and frequently touched surfaces are thoroughly disinfected at the end of each week to help maintain a clean and healthy environment.
