Hello parents, and welcome to Lafayette Village Playhouse! We are a licensed in-home daycare located in the heart of the family-friendly Lafayette Village community in Annandale, VA. Our home-based child care is conveniently situated just off Lafayette Village Drive, with easy access to Little River Turnpike (SR 236) and the Capital Beltway (I-495). We're also just a short drive from Woodburn Elementary School, making us an ideal choice for local families looking for quality child care or preschool options in Annandale.
Program:
Our Spanish bilingual program offers full-time child care for infants (starting at 6 months) through toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. We’re open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Nutrition is a key part of our care. Healthy, balanced meals are included in tuition and served daily to support children’s growth and well-being. Parents receive a weekly menu outlining all meal options. All food is prepared in a peanut-free and tree nut-free environment to ensure safety for children with allergies.
About Me:
Hello again! I’m the owner and main caregiver here at Lafayette Village Playhouse. I bring over 16 years of hands-on experience in child care, along with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I’m also certified in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Training (MAT), so you can feel confident that your child is in capable and caring hands.
Caring for children has always been my passion. I love helping little ones grow, learn, and feel truly safe and supported. I’m a patient and nurturing caregiver, and I take pride in guiding children through their early learning experiences with encouragement and compassion. I also prioritize nutrition as an essential part of their development.
Equally important to me is the relationship I build with families. As a parent myself, I understand the deep trust it takes to leave your child in someone else's care. That’s why I’ve worked hard to create a warm, home-like atmosphere where both children and parents feel welcome and at ease. Knowing that I’m helping children thrive, and giving parents peace of mind, makes this work incredibly meaningful. It’s a privilege to be part of each family’s journey, and I take that responsibility to heart.
Philosophy & Curriculum:
At Lafayette Village Playhouse, our goal is to foster a positive and joyful space that supports each child’s natural curiosity and love for learning. We believe that every child is unique, and we take the time to understand their individual needs, interests, and developmental stages.
Our curriculum is designed to be age-appropriate, hands-on, and engaging. Activities are carefully planned to align with each child’s growth, avoiding repetition and encouraging creativity, exploration, and discovery. Whether it’s through art, numbers, or storytelling, we aim to spark a love of learning by meeting children where they are and helping them build confidence along the way.
Daily Routine:
Each day begins with a warm welcome as children arrive and wash their hands before enjoying a healthy breakfast. Free play follows, giving children time to explore and interact with peers. We then transition into engaging activities, such as Play-Doh, to build creativity and fine motor skills.
After a nutritious morning snack, we gather for circle time, where we explore topics like animals, numbers, painting, and more. This lays the foundation for early learning through fun and interaction. More playtime follows before lunch, and our handwashing routines help promote good hygiene throughout the day.
After lunch, children rest in a quiet, dedicated nap room designed for comfort and relaxation. When they wake, they freshen up, enjoy an afternoon snack, and then head outside to our playground (weather permitting) for physical activity and fresh air as they wait for pick-up.
Our structured yet flexible routine is thoughtfully designed to balance nourishment, learning, rest, and play, ensuring every child feels safe, happy, and supported throughout their day.
