Welcome to Evergreen Immersion Academy! We provide quality childcare in our South Arlington home, just outside of Shirlington. We treat your children like our children! Our own sons will be playing and learning right along side your children. Our focus is providing bi-lingual play based curriculum, uniquely tailored to each child entrusted to our care. We believe in tactile, learn-by-doing instruction, aimed at building confidence, empathy and self-reliance. We pride ourselves on sending your child home each day, tired from physical play as well as mental and interpersonal stimulation. Our Mission We believe education begins in the home. However, we know that the realities of modern life dictate that most of us do more than rear children. Our mission is to make our household an extension of your own. Cultivating a familial like environment, that nurtures and reinforces all of the learning, habits, and disciplines that will allow your child to thrive. About me My name is Karem Smith Ramirez. I am a nurturing, fun-loving, mother of three wonderful boys, that is passionate about children and education! I am a fully bi-lingual college educated woman, originally of Ecuador, with legal permanent residency (and soon citizenship!) in the United States. I established Evergreen Immersion Academy to address what I believe is an underserved segment in the local childcare arena. I want to provide a place where children can not only learn, and be exposed to a new language, and new ideas, but can be nurtured and loved. I want to provide a home away from home. We strive to provide a wholistic program which considers the emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development of each individual. There is no quick way to articulate the full significance of that or the mechanisms to accomplish the goal. However, it starts with providing a nurturing and structured environment, that allows children to feel secure enough to explore the world around them. Then we encourage your child to wrestle with problems, and go get their hands dirty. (Yeah literally! Also, their clothes.) We are all about learning by doing.
