About Me:
Welcome to Spring Lake Children's Place, my licensed home daycare and preschool in Fairfax, VA. Im the owner and main caregiver and I have 18 years of child care experience. I hold a Bachelors degree in Economics and Im CPR & First-aid certified.
Im also a mother of 2 and I always treat each child in my care as if they were my own. My goal is to provide nurturing care and quality early childhood education, and help parents in the area have peace of mind while they are away from their little one.
Curriculum:
I believe that children learn through play and engaging educational activities, which is why I follow the Play-based learning philosophy. My daily curriculum is full of variety and fun. I engage my students in fun educational activities such as music, arts & crafts, puzzles, letters & numbers, blocks, shapes, and storytime, and also teach them early math and early literacy. They also enjoy coloring and singing along to nursery rhymes.
Toddlers learn about the weather, opposites, days of the week, and important manners like saying "please" and "thank you." For infants, there's tummy time to build strength, sing songs, and play with toys that make sounds to engage their senses.
I have a wonderful space that's open and clean with plenty of room to explore. Bright carpets and lots of natural sunlight create a cheerful atmosphere. I have wall decor, educational posters, and a library of books for circle time. My daycare also has a spacious nap room where children can rest comfortably and a lot of space for children to play.
I also have a fenced playground where we spend our outdoor play-time, weather permitting. In addition to English, I can expose your child to Nepali and Hindi languages upon your request (however, my daycare is not a bilingual program).
Program:
My child care and preschool program is open year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer flexible child care options to accommodate busy parents like you such as full-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 2 months and 5 years old. I also have a dog, a well behaved and very friendly German Shepherd!
Im part of the USDA food program and I serve breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner to all kids attending my program. Due to possible allergies, I run peanut and tree-nut free environment. Before and after school care are also available for older kids, up to 12 years old (my facility is close to Fairhill Elementary School and Marshall Road Elementary school).
Safety:
To prevent the spread of any type of disease caused by germs and viruses, I sanitize tables, surfaces, high chairs, and door knobs throughout the day. I make sure to give the space a thorough deep cleaning every two weeks. I also check the temperature of the kids at drop-off.
Location:
Spring Lake Children's Place is located in the Braxton neighborhood of Fairfax, VA. I am right off Lee Hwy (US-29) and have easy access to Arlington Blvd (US-50) and the I-495, so your daily commute will be convenient.
