About us
Woodley North Children's House is a nurturing daycare and high-quality early childhood education program in Falls Church, VA! I’m the owner and lead teacher and I have 17 years of experience. I run my daycare and preschool program with my 2 daughters who have 15 years of combined experience. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology and my assistants have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and an Associate’s Degree in Dentistry, respectively.
We are CPR and First-aid certified, as well as M.A.T trained, so we can administer medication to children if needed. Our daycare is a place where both parents and children can grow. We are a welcoming, safe, friendly family child care program run in a smoke free environment. We have teachers who come from a background in pediatrics, dentistry, early head-start and more!
Curriculum
We follow the Play-based learning philosophy, allowing children to learn through play. We offer a variety of learning activities for young children, from dancing to singing, arts, building blocks, learning how to brush teeth and much more! We also offer extra-curricular activities focusing on sports and physical activity (such as yoga) and life skills, such as gardening and manners.
Our child care and preschool program recently received a grant from the PDG B-5 program (Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five). It is a unique recognition grant program designed to strengthen the early childhood education system and promote high quality experiences for our young learners. Receiving this grant is a wonderful recognition that we offer a high quality program, and that we participate in efforts to strengthen the birth to five early childhood care and education system.
Woodley North Children's House also has achieved a Level 5 in Virginia Quality, which represents the highest level of quality. Compared to most family child care and preschool programs, as a Level 5 program, we fulfill the following requirements: In good standing with regulatory or licensing standards, staff members with formal education in childhood education, curriculum aligned with Virginia's Early Learnings Guidelines, high-quality learning environment with many, positive, and academic interactions between children and teachers, and participate in ongoing professional development in accordance with Virginia Quality's Standards.
Daily Schedule
We generally start off the day by having free play, where children arrive and explore new things each and everyday. This free time is followed by breakfast, circle time (also known as story time), centers of choice (dramatic play, blocks, puzzles, library, etc.), learning centers (writing, arts, math, science), clean up/bathroom time, outdoor play (weather permitting), lunch, rest time, clean up/library, bathroom/hand washing, snack time, story time, outdoor play/indoor/music & movement, and last but not least, free play again!
Program
Our hours of operation are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer full-time care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers (ages between 6 weeks and 5 years old including children with special needs).

Woodley North Children's House is in the Woodley North neighborhood in Falls Church, VA. Our facility is right off Graham Rd, near Tyler Park and Devonshire Park. My daughter absolutely loves coming here every morning. Her face lights up when the owner opens the door. She blossomed since starting and has learned so much. The owner and her team are also always keeping us in the loop on how she does every day. I am so thankful we found such a wonderful daycare!

The owner and her family are an absolute godsend. I consider them part of our family for how well they treat my 20-month old son, and I'm constantly amazed at what he learns while he is there. This daycare is the best thing to happen to us, and my only regret is having not started our son at them sooner than we did. I recommend them to everyone I speak to and would be more than happy to be a reference for anyone considering joining their center.

Our daughter loves her and is always so happy to see her when we drop her off in the morning. She and her assistants have taught her a lot, and they keep us updated about how she is doing every day. We are so happy to have found such a warm, loving, place for our daughter!

The owner and her team are very welcoming and supportive. As a new mom, I felt very secure having my daughter in their care.
She gave us detailed information of how she was doing each day and we worked through developmental milestones such as rolling, siting up, feet to mouth, etc. I would recommend her to other families in the area.

I absolutely love her and her team! Our child has been in her care since she was four months old and has been thriving. Not only is she advanced in her milestones from all of the work they do during the day, she receives so much love and care every day. we are grateful to have found this daycare and a provider as great as her!

We were only with this caregiver for a short time before we moved out of state but both my and I daughter loved her! Cannot recommend enough, I felt she helped us build a strong foundation for loving out of home care and when my daughter went to a new facility her transition was seamless.

We took advantage of a temporary opening here to cover the gap between returning to work and when our infant son's full-time daycare started. It was our first experience with childcare out of the home and we were extremely apprehensive. Our experience with the owner and her team has been incredible. They are loving and nurturing and keep us posted on any issues they see throughout the day. We feel so fortunate to have found them and are quite sad to be leaving. If we weren't already committed, we'd be desperate to stay with her. It's so reassuring to know that our baby is getting this kind of care even when he's not with us--they feel like family! I can't recommend them highly enough. We can't thank them enough for the special care our son has received.

My son has felt safe, welcome and loved since day 1. This provider and the other teachers are absolutely amazing. I highly recommend her services as she goes above and beyond. For example, my wife and I both got food poisoning on a Saturday and without any friends or family able to take care of my son while sick. We called this provider as a last resort and she was able to look after him while we both sought medical treatment. This provider didn’t accept any compensation for watching him. she is truly family to us.

We were very fortunate finding this provider and her team to watch our son. Its a stressful decision finding a daycare to take your child however from day 1, this provider made us feel at ease. Our son continues to stay ahead of milestones which I attribute to this provider and team working with him during the day. Every afternoon when we pick him up he is smiling and hugging his teachers not wanting to go. A nice touch this provider does is text occasional photos and videos of your child to you during the day. As new parents this always made our day! Highly recommend!

The provider and her team have been fantastic for our (now) almost two year old. They offer a warm and welcoming environment and are very thoughtful with the activities they provide. Our son is excited when we drop him off and this provider is always willing to discuss how he has been doing or how his day went. We have been thrilled to have him attend and feel lucky we were able to get him enrolled after we moved to the area from out of state. We would highly recommend for any parents considering her services.

When I was looking for a daycare for my baby I was so overwhelmed with options, but I am so happy I found this facility. The provider and her assistants are the kindest people and they take such genuine care of my daughter, as if she is their own. I love how my daughter's face lights up whenever she sees the provider each morning. I appreciate how well they communicate and how they partner with me to help my daughter learn and grow! Our son attended this center from age 1.5 to age 2 -- and he made the most incredible progress thanks to the expert care of this provider and her daughters. He started in the program with very few words, and he is leaving for preschool knowing how to count to 10, many letters, hundreds of words, the ability to follow directions and to participate in songs, dances, and other fun activities. Simply put, we are thrilled with his progress and we highly recommend this center. We feel like this program goes far beyond what a traditional "in-home" provider offers... the space is huge (several different rooms on the ground floor of the house) and the provider works hard to offer the toddlers a curriculum so that they are ready for preschool.
We always felt as though our son was safe and well-cared for, and that the teachers loved him as one of their own. You cannot find a better, more personalized spot for your young child than this center.

We love this daycare. All of the teachers treat our child like their own. It's a wonderful, welcoming place. It's clean, well-organized, and they do a lot of teaching just like a school. It's an absolutely wonderful place. I could not imagine sending him anywhere else.

My son loves going to daycare everyday. His joy is all the evidence I need that he is loved and well cared for. The staff love telling me about his day when I pick him up each day. Their passion for caring for the kids is clear. As a first-time parent, I really appreciate their expertise and ask them many questions. This place has been so great for my daughter. she was 2 when she joined and it s been a year and half of fun times for her. The teachers are very nice and personally invest time to make sure the child is comfortable. They do a lot of fun activities and make it a point to celebrate all events through the year. They fully helped with potty training , make sure she is well fed and the facility is kept very clean. Highly recommend

This center is amazing! The provider and her family/staff are so wonderful with the children and treat them like family! We love this provider and her family. He is learning lots, having fun and gets lots of hugs. The facility is very clean and safe and has everything he could need including a big backyard. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they absolutely love my son. I don’t have any hesitation dropping my son off everyday because I know he is in good hands.

This provider and her staff are stellar. When it comes to childcare, I know that my husband and my standards are astronomical. This provider meets every single one. The biggest decision for me was not buying a house or getting married but who is going to watch my precious baby. She’s it - hands down. I have researched, visited, reached out to previous references both parents and prior employees of a variety of daycare facilities and her and her staff are number one. Her care, love, attention to noticing my baby’s disposition and needs are like no other. Even though she has tons of experience she is always looking for ways to improve and learn. Her ability to communicate clearly with me and build a relationship is like no other. I can’t say enough about her. I feel blessed beyond measure. She’s not close to my house but I drive further out just because she’s that superb and there’s nothing more valuable than ensuring my children are cared for just as much as I would care for them.

We love this daycare- in fact it’s more like a home based preschool. Activities are educational and fun. We love the fact that children are encouraged to brush their teeth after their meals! Our daughter Kasia made a lot of friends, and it’s amazing how quickly she’s learning! One time we read a book and she pointed to shapes saying “mommy look, this is an oval and that’s an octagon”. This provider is trying to enchanté her program with fun activities like Yoga for kids, crafts or music classes. I know my daughter spends her day in a fun, safe and educational program. What else can a parent want?

My husband and I interviewed about 10 daycare providers before choosing this daycare and I'm very glad we made that decision. The provider and her team are great! They are really caring and sweet people. They truly care for all the kids there. My son had a lot of skin and eating issues. The provider was a huge contributor in helping us resolve the issues. She spent a lot of time with him and watched as his skin reacting throughout the day and would report back to us. She also raised a couple kids of her own and could easily speak from experience. We were very thankful for this provider during this time.
The provider and her team are also very responsive via text. Throughout the day they'll send videos and updates. She is also very respectful of you as a parent and would never do anything without discussing it with you beforehand. The provider and her team are also very flexible. My husband and I have crazy work schedules and her team is always flexible with drop off and pick up (within reason) and we truly appreciate it!
My son adores her team and is really happy at this daycare. I would highly recommend her daycare center to any family!

My 2 years old son has been enrolled in this center for seven months.Both the provider are so loving and caring, they take care of every single recommendations that parents give. I really like the system of this center, they send photos of the kids throughout the day to parents. I do feel that my son is happy here and progressing so nicely. They also bring in extra activities all the time. They center is safe and always clean. We have really loved having our son go here and definitely we recommend this center to other parents

Our daughter has been going to this provider for 4 months now. We love how much care she has received. From crying to go to school today , she gets excited to go to school now. The staff give personal care and attention to the kids. The place is maintained very clean. Very responsive and nice activities. Great experience overall.

This daycare is a safe and loving environment for my daughter (2 years old). We've been coming for almost 1 year. This provider works to stay up to date in a variety of child development aspects and takes pride in her work. The daycare is clean and inviting. Kids are provided with healthy meals and stimulating toys/experience. This daycare has taught my daughter colors, counting, ABCs and songs. They have worked with me in potty training too. I'd recommend this daycare!

We are very blessed to have found this provider. She is amazing to our child. He was with a nanny from newborn- 1 year and we were afraid he wouldn’t get use to only English and new friends etc. This provider helped us with this transition and we are still amazed at the rate he learns at her day care. We are so happy we made the switch, and so thankful to have found a day care provider who truly cares and loves children. She is like a mother to us and our family, we Love this provider!!
