Program:
Potomac Crossing Playhouse offers year-round child care from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. We provide both full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks old, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 6 years old.
Children enjoy healthy, nutritious snacks each day, included in tuition and prepared in a peanut-free and tree-nut-free environment for their safety. In addition to English, I speak Urdu fluently and can introduce your child to this beautiful language upon request: a great opportunity for early bilingual development.
About Me:
Hi Parents! I’m the owner and primary caregiver at Potomac Crossing Playhouse. With over 15 years of childcare experience and certifications in CPR, First Aid, and MAT, I’m passionate about providing a safe, loving environment for children to grow and thrive.
Before opening my daycare, I spent more than five years as an assistant in a trusted home-based child care program. I’m also a proud mother of three (now 10, 13, and 15), and it was my experience both professionally and personally that inspired me to start my own program.
Running my own daycare has allowed me to blend my love for early childhood education with the flexibility to care for my family. I feel honored to support working parents and offer a warm, welcoming space that truly feels like a second home.
Philosophy
Choosing child care is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. At Potomac Crossing Playhouse, we blend professional expertise with the nurturing feel of a home environment. Our goal is to support each child’s unique development at their own pace while building strong, trusting relationships with families.
Open and ongoing communication is a cornerstone of our approach, so you’ll always feel informed and involved. With individualized care, age-appropriate learning, a balanced daily routine, and lots of love, your child will be in good hands every day.
Daily Routine:
Our days are thoughtfully structured but always flexible to meet the needs of each child. We begin with arrival and free play, giving children time to ease into the day. After clean-up and handwashing, we enjoy breakfast followed by circle time, which is an opportunity for storytelling, singing, and social interaction that builds language and early literacy skills.
A morning snack is served before we head outdoors (weather permitting) for active play and exploration. After outdoor time, the children return inside for lunch, handwashing, and storytime, which offers a soothing transition into nap or rest time. Infants nap a bit longer based on their individual schedules.
When children wake up, we take care of diaper changes, toilet time, and handwashing. Then it’s time for a healthy afternoon snack, followed by creative activities such as drawing, playdough, or pretend play that foster self-expression and fine motor development.
Later in the afternoon, we return outside to wrap up the day with more fresh air and social play. Before pick-up, there’s time for another round of toileting, clean-up, and free play to end the day on a positive and relaxed note.
