Whitehurst Family Daycare, Herndon

Our family has been extremely pleased with Elaine’s daycare. We found her after having issues with communication at the first home daycare we sent our child to. Elaine is prompt in communication and expectations are discussed at length up front. She cares for the kids like they are her own and I don’t worry about my child at all when they are with her. A big plus is the hours that she is open! Elaine works with the children well and carries over what we are working on in our home (like feeding and milk intake). I highly recommend Elaine to anyone looking for home daycare.

I absolutely love using Whitehurst Family Daycare! I am a first time mother, and I was a worry wart! But from day one in our interview, she made me feel so comfortable leaving my new baby with her. He has been going to Mrs. Elaine's since he was about 2.5 months old. He is only 5 months old now, but he gets so excited and happy to see Mrs. Elaine when we walk in the door! His face lights up as soon as he sees her! She is so easy to get along with and to talk to. She is not only a fantastic teacher for the children, but for the adults as well! Any questions I have, she is always willing to answer. She always sends me pictures of my little one to show how happy he is throughout the day as well. When my day is over and I go to pick him up, he has a huge smile on his face letting me know that he had a great day at daycare! I plan on using Whitehurst Family Daycare for the remaining time that my son needs it, as well as if I have any children in the future. Mrs. Elaine is fantastic and I couldn't imagine my son in a more loving environment! We love Mrs. Elaine!

Kelli (2.5 years old) loves Miss Elaine! They have morning circle time where they go over the day of the week, weather, etc. She has charts of colors, shapes, ABCs that the kids look at and point too. She has ample toys that she rotates so the children are never bored. They go outside when the weather is nice and will occasionally walk to the local playground. I never question her safety while she is there. She is firm, but very loving. She has rules that the kids are expected to follow, this has helped her outside of Elaine's to follow other rules/ procedures. She has also been very flexible with any changes/ requests I have made. I recommend her to any one!
