Welcome to Lorton Valley Kiddie Cove, our licensed family child care and preschool program in Lorton VA. We’re located in the Village At Lorton Valley neighborhood, near Lorton Rd (route 642) and Furnace Rd (route 611). Your daily commute to work will be very convenient since our house is only a few minutes’ drive away from Ox Rd / Gordon Blvd (route 123) and the I-95.

About The Caregiver:
I’m the main caregiver of this intimate and safe home-based daycare, and I’ve been in this industry for 3 decades. I’m CPR, First-aid, and M.A.T. certified, so you can be sure that your little precious one is safe with us at all times.
As a parent myself, I know how challenging it is to find the best fit for your child and how stressful it is for you to think of leaving your child with someone you barely know. Don’t worry, we’re loving and nurturing caregivers, and we treat every child in our care as if they were our own. We treat parents and children as part of our family :)
Our #1 priority is caring for all children equally, and to the best of our ability. We welcome all children and families with open arms and look forward to having your little ones join us at Lorton Valley Kiddie Cove.
Curriculum:
We follow the Play-based learning approach to make learning more fun! We engage our little students in fun, educational activities such as circle time, learning numbers, days of the week, and animals. We also teach them good manners and how to respect one another.
Our preschool curriculum includes learning shapes, colors, numbers, and ABC’s. The children also learn about the weather, days of the week, vegetables, and farm animals. During morning circle time, we sing and dance, helping children to spell and write their names before they enter school. In addition to English, we speak Farsi and Pashto and upon request, we can expose your child to these foreign languages (although our daycare is not a bilingual or full immersion program).
Program:
Lorton Valley Kiddie Cove is open all year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Mondays to Fridays. Lunch and snacks are already included in the tuition and provided to all kids attending our program. To prevent possible allergies, we maintain a peanut and tree-nut free environment. We offer full-time care for infants, toddlers through preschoolers up to 5 years old.
Facility:
We offer a very stimulating learning environment where children can play, learn, and grow. There are wall decorations everywhere as well as learning curriculum, bright carpets, and age-appropriate toys. Each room is painted with different colors and we have individual beds for each child, as well as a separate room for infants and a toddler nap area.
We have an arts and crafts area and a play area used for free play and story time. The daycare feels warm and like a big family. We have a picture wall showcasing past children we cared for, some of whom are now married with children of their own. We provide toys and activity sets for both infants and toddlers, including books, puzzles, and blocks. We have a private playground where we spend our outdoor activities and playtime.
