About

MilesScott Academy is a small in home daycare, run in a large single family home. The daycare is completely separate from the household living area, and includes a private sleeping room. Children in our care enjoy a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, music and sign language, cooking and baking, playing outside, and lots of free time to explore their world. We have one large playroom to romp around in, with three focused areas. One is a large motor skill room where children can play in the ball pit, ride push toys, play basketball, or just dance and be silly. Our main carpet is used for free play, and imagination and In the other area we have our crafts, circle time, and preschool lessons. The childcare is run by two adults. Someone is always available to stay with sleeping babies so the older children can play outside. On Monday Wednesdays and Fridays we run preschool prep program with a weekly theme, letter, and number. We take a very hands on approach to teaching basic preschool prep. The children learn their colors, numbers, and letters through play and games. For example: “Tell me how many cars you see, what color is this one?”

Jaxon has been with Cummings Family Childcare since he was 8 weeks old so we have had the pleasure of seeing this daycare grow into an amazing program. They have a wonderful facility for the children to safely play and explore while learning, including but not limited to arts and crafts, outdoor play, and dance parties! The staff is competent and nurturing and my son ADORES them all. He is often upset when it's time to go home! They are very flexible with your schedule and have accommodated various requests from us throughout our time there. It will be a sad day when Jaxon transitions out of CFCC and I highly recommend it for your infant/toddler.

My almost-2-year-old daughter has been going to Cait's daycare for almost a year now, and I sent my older daughter there a few years ago. It really is run like a preschool, with a focus on learning, outdoor play, themes, colors, counting, sensory activities, and new experiences, but in a comfortable home environment with loving caregivers. Ana and Wendy are outstanding. My daughter absolutely loves it there. Worth every penny!

Our 21-month-year-old son has been at Cummings Family Childcare for almost a year, and we are extremely happy with the care he receives. He loves all of the teachers and has so much fun each day. I love that he works on crafts and projects and that he gets to interact and learn from the other children. Some days he's having so much fun that he doesn't want to leave! The one difficulty for us is that the daycare is located in Reston, which is quite a drive for us -- I wish there was a location in Vienna! That we choose to make the commute each day is truly a testament to how wonderful CFCC is and how much our son enjoys the experience!

Our son has been at Cummings Family Childcare for the last 8 months. I am so grateful to have found people I feel so comfortable leaving my son with everyday. He LOVES his teachers and friends at "school" and gets excited every time we walk through the door. I love that our little guy gets to play with friends, do crafts, sing songs, and play outside while he's there. It's been so great to see the relationship he has formed with Cait, Ana, Wendy, and the other kids. I drive out of my way everyday to take him to school because he's so happy there!

OJ has been with Cait since she was 8 weeks old, she is almost 2. We love Cait, Ana, and Wendy. OJ asks for each of them every morning along with asking for the other kids. You can truly tell the love each of these women have for the kids. As a first time parent, I was nervous about leaving my baby with a virtual stranger but that didn't last long. We recently moved to Ashburn but kept OJ with Cummings Family Childcare because of how much OJ loves going to her "school". We just wish there was a second facility in Ashburn :)

We have been with Cummings Family Childcare for going on 2 years and have been nothing but pleased with Mari-Cait and her team. OJ is always so happy to go to school every day.
