Welcome to Parkland Kids Playhouse! We are a licensed home-based daycare and preschool program located in the Aspen Hill Park neighborhood of Rockville, MD. We’re just off Aspen Hill Rd and Parkland Dr, giving us quick and easy access to major routes, including Veirs Mill Rd (MD 586) and Connecticut Ave (MD 185). We’re also just a few minutes from Wheaton Woods Elementary School and Brookhaven Elementary School. Our convenient location makes morning commutes easier for busy families in Montgomery County!

We are open year-round, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. We provide both full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks old to toddlers and preschoolers. We also provide before and after-school care for school-aged children up to 12 years old. Included in your tuition are healthy and nutritious meals that are provided daily and prepared in a peanut and tree-nut-free environment, to ensure the well-being and safety of the little ones with allergies.

Hello parents! I am the owner and main caregiver here at Parkland Kids Playhouse! I bring over 2 years of child care experience working as an assistant at a local daycare center, and I am fully trained and certified in CPR and First Aid. I opened my own daycare with the dream of providing a warm, home-like environment where children feel genuinely cared for, safe, familiar, and full of encouragement. My goal is for families to have a place outside their home they could trust, one that blends comfort with meaningful opportunities for learning and growth. What inspires me most is watching children learn and grow each day. Experiencing the world through their eyes, celebrating their milestones, whether it’s first steps, new words, or mastering a new skill, every moment reminds me why I chose this path and why I’m so passionate about early childhood development.

At Parkland Kids Playhouse, we follow a play-based curriculum, learning through creative play and early childhood educational activities. Using age-appropriate learning materials, we support each child’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth while encouraging curiosity and independence. Music, movement, and interactive group experiences help children build confidence, communication skills, and develop a love and excitement for learning. We also provide healthy meals, fun outdoor activities, and a reliable daily routine that provides security and self-discipline. Our program is designed to reassure parents with peace of mind through reliable, high-quality care, while offering the children a joyful and enriching environment in which to grow each day.

Each day at Parkland Kids Playhouse, we follow a steady, child-centered routine designed to promote comfort, exploration, and learning. The children begin the day by settling in and participating in group activities that foster a sense of community. As the morning progresses, they choose from a variety of hands-on experiences such as building, drawing, dramatic play, or reading. Throughout the day, children participate in guided learning experiences, enjoy family-style meals, and participate in collaborative clean-up routines that support independence, sharing, and social development. When the weather is nice, we organize outdoor activities that are integrated into the daily flow, giving children time to move their bodies, practice social skills, and engage in imaginative play. We then head inside to wash up and get ready for a quiet rest period, which allows children to unwind and recharge. Those who do not sleep may look at books or engage in peaceful activities. These consistent routines help children feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. Throughout the day, I observe each child’s growth and development to tailor activities that meet their unique needs. Within the first two months of attendance, I've completed a developmental checklist and kept detailed records in individual folders, which include samples of the children’s work. These records are shared during family conferences to support open communication and collaborative planning. I can also expose your child to another language and culture, upon request, as I am fluent in Singhalese in addition to English.
