Welcome to Tanglewood Children's Place, a licensed daycare and preschool nestled in the Tanglewood neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD. Our convenient location, just off Fairland Rd, ensures easy drop-off and pick-up as it's only a minute away from Columbia Pike (US-29), and the Intercounty Connector (MD-200).
At Tanglewood Children's Place, we are open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. We provide both full-time and part-time care for children ranging from 6 weeks old to 12 years old, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. For added flexibility, we also offer drop-in care to meet your occasional childcare needs.
We prioritize your child’s health and safety. Nutritious snacks are provided daily, included in tuition, and prepared in a peanut and tree-nut-free environment.
I am the owner and primary caregiver at Tanglewood Children's Place. With over 20 years of experience in child care, including a decade as a Kindergarten teacher, I am committed to providing a warm, safe, and enriching environment for your children. I am also CPR and First Aid certified, ensuring that your little ones are in expert hands.
My passion for caring for children evolved into a desire to create a space where I could support more families and help children thrive. Opening my own daycare allowed me to turn my experiences into a fulfilling venture. I’ve built lasting relationships with families and find joy in seeing children grow, learn, and discover the world around them. Being part of these early journeys is a dream come true.

Our day begins with arrival and free play, allowing children to explore through small group interactions and activities tailored to their interests. After a nutritious breakfast and necessary diaper changes or toilet time, we gather for circle time and story-time moments that foster curiosity and connection.
Weather permitting, we head outside to our safe, fenced backyard for age-appropriate outdoor play that encourages movement and exploration. Afterward, we wash up, clean up, and prepare for lunchtime, followed by a restful nap to recharge.
The afternoon features a group snack and engaging activities such as puzzles, books, and learning toys. Outdoor play is another opportunity for children to stretch their legs before we clean up, enjoy free play, and get ready for pick-up. Each day is an adventure filled with joy, learning, and care for your little one.
