Hi parents! I am a mother of 2 with over 32 years of child care experience, and I’m the owner of Glenmont Park Playhouse, in Silver Spring, MD. We are a small family-run child care program, and as the main caregiver, I am first-aid and CPR certified. I also hold a Child Development Associate’s Degree.
We offer a bilingual Spanish daycare (for parents who want a bilingual environment), and my program is accredited by the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), which is not common for home daycares as it requires higher standards of quality.
We provide full-time and part-time daycare, and we’re open from 7:30am until 5:30pm. Our home daycare caters to infants (newborns), as well as toddlers up to 3 years old. I provide snacks to the children in my care, and we are a peanut and tree-nut free daycare.
Glenmont Park Children's House is near Glenmont Local Park, within walking distance of the Wheaton High School and Thomas Edison High School of Technology. I’m also less than a mile away from the Glenmont Metro Station!

My son has been with this caregiver since he was 6 months. Now he’s 18 months and thriving. We chose her because she came highly recommended from a friend but also because she had nearly two decades of experience in both her own business and other people’s day cares. She genuinely loves the kids she takes care of. I love that my son is in a smaller setting where he can truly attach to his caregivers — he gets so much individual attention and love and there is so much consistency. We recently had a case of diaper rash and Wendy went above and beyond to make sure he had diaper free time at day care as well as at night and in the mornings at home. It’s truly a family business and her daughter who helps out occasionally is amazing as well. She also had no problem with Baby Led Weaning when my son started solids, which is important to us.
She has been an amazing caregiver for our son and we are so glad we chose her. I would recommend this day care wholeheartedly.

Our son has been at this daycare for four months and we love the family atmosphere. She really does treat her kids like they are a part of her family. Our son had to be out of daycare for two weeks because of a major surgery and she checked on us and him several times while we were out. We love that she speaks Spanish & English to the kids. Our son is only 8 months old, but we see with the older kids that they respond to both languages and we are so excited to be able to expose our son to two languages. This provider sends videos and pictures often, putting a first time mom like me at ease. She also keeps a detailed list of the times he eats, sleeps, and has diaper changes, which has been super helpful in figuring out our weekend schedule for the baby. We plan to keep our son here as long as we can!

This provider treats every child like they are her own. She is warm, caring, and shows that she loves each and every child in her care. She keeps them busy with play and projects, and even her family welcomes the kids in as family! I can not say enough wonderful things about her!!!

My grandkids just started and so far it is AWESOME. I love the interaction the teacher has with the kids, and she treats them like her own. I thank God that when I was seeking daycare I came across this one. Thank you so much Ms. W and CareLuLu you are the BEST.
