We also have specific part-time spots for infants to 5 years old on Mondays and Thursdays all day and for 16 months old to 24 months old on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00am to 3:00pm and for 2 years old to 5 years old Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 3:00pm.
Hello parents, and welcome to Highland Children's Place, your child’s future home away from home in Springfield, VA! My child care and preschool program offers full-time, part-time, and drop-in care for children 4 weeks to 4 years old.
Nestled right in the Springfield Park neighborhood just off Highland Street, my in-home daycare is also conveniently close to the Capital Beltway Highway (I-495) and just 2 minutes away from Lynbrook Elementary School.
About Me:
I am the proud owner of Highland Children's Place, Springfield. As a mother of 3 kids myself, I understand the importance of prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of your baby. With 9 years of experience in early education and 5 years as a nurse, I know exactly how to accomplish just that. I'm also C.P.R. and First Aid certified.
During my years of being a nurse, I realized that my passion was to care for other people, specifically children. I enjoy seeing kids playing, being happy, and learning while in my care. That's why I decided to open my own facility :)
Program:
My home-based daycare is open all year around, from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday. I am also flexible and willing to accommodate your schedule. Should you need my assistance outside of the above hours, I can extend my opening times, be open on Saturdays to provide weekend care, and occasionally Holidays. I can even cancel vacation days if needed, my goal is to help busy parents!
I also offer peanut-free and treenut-free snacks and lunches to all the children in my care (all already included in the tuition)! Aside from English, I am also fluent in Amharic, upon request I can introduce your child to another language!
Curriculum:
At Highland Children's Place, we believe in the benefits of play-based learning. From experience, I know that infants, toddlers and preschoolers learn better when having fun! We’ll be doing activities such as baking, cooking, and various arts and crafts.
On days when the weather is agreeable, and with your child’s safety in mind, I also have a fully fenced backyard and outdoor play area. Your child will be able to exercise and play with other kids, while developing important social skills, and physical growth.
