Mount Olivet Children's Academy, Washington DC

I can't say enough nice things about this place. They had been a staple in our lives since first bringing our two sons to their facility as young infants. They went above and beyond with social events for families to get together, creating such a wonderful atmosphere of cohesiveness in all who attended! [The amazing, authentic food provided was a bonus! Prepared and cooked by the teachers!] The teachers were so kind and caring, thoughtful in projects and walking field trips out of the center, with so many pictures of our little ones to enjoy. If we hadn't moved across town, we would continue to use their services with our youngest.

I sent my daughter to this daycare from age 2-3 years old. Like any mom it was hard leaving my child in the hands of others for such a long period of time during the day especially since I had kept my daughter home for the first two years of her life. However, I was a dental student over at Howard University and it became increasingly more difficult to do that and I had no choice but to send my daughter to daycare. As with most kids it is quite an adjustment settling in with a new group of people but I can say that the staff and the Owner took to my child right away and worked so lovingly with my little Aries personality. The staff did change a bit while we were there but I can say only the new hires that fit into the caring culture stayed. The owner is great with kids, so generous and understanding, a great communicator, and very accessible if you need to contact her. I have since moved out of state for a residency program but we miss this daycare so much! It's a warm place that feels like family.

We are grateful to have quality child care in our neighborhood. Our child has been in this childcare (at another location and here) since he was 3 and a half months old - he is now a little over 2. All of the teachers have been caring and so loving toward our child. The only drawback is there is no outdoor play area, but the teachers are able to take the kids to nearby playgrounds or go for walks. We are grateful for the precautions they have put in place for COVID-19 too. We love our little neighborhood school.

The provider and her team make the facility feel like an extension of our family. They are very loving and nurturing with the kids and make an effort to create a sense of community among staff and parents. This provider is responsive when we have questions. Our son has flourished there and we're happy we found such a great team to help care for him.

Our daughter started about 3 months ago (she was 17 months) and we love it! She is extremely happy at the center. The teachers shower her with love and affection. Some days she doesn't want to leave. She had a quick adjustment and that is really a credit to the staff. I cannot express how happy we are to have found the center. The owner is a lovely person and very responsive! Certainly a hidden jewel!

Nyra is learning and thriving so well here. We love the entire staff, they’ve been our family for a year now!

Excellent place for kids with people who care

My daughter attended this center for 5 months and was well taken care of during her time there. Positives: Very nice owner, very flexible and helpful. The teachers are wonderful and care for children. The center is well stocked with toys and is very clean. The curriculum would vary each week and the center made an effort to introduce new activities once a week. Negatives: The center can feel crowded since all the children share one large space, with small barriers separating the "rooms." The curriculum is somewhat product oriented (as opposed to process oriented), so you will get the teacher's "perfect" work but not necessarily your child's creation. However, please note that this is a new center and I am sure that this provider will work on her curriculum and make it process oriented for kids. Overall, we felt comfortable leaving our child. Our daughter grew attached to many of the teachers in her short time there and we received several photographic and video updates each week. We hope the Center will only continue to improve.

This is a wonderful center. It is very clean and nicely decorated. I love the staff members who are very kind and patient. As a new mommy I immediately felt very comfortable with this provider My son loves her!

My daughter goes here and loves it! The teachers are supportive and kind. There are lots of activities and she gets to learn new things every day.
