Holly's Petite Maison Home Daycare, Winter Park

About

At Holly's Petite Maison Home Daycare, we use Creative Curriculum and Storybook Curriculum to help children develop speech, vocabulary skills, sounds, rhythm, and enjoy books, which all lead to pre-reading skills. Math concepts look like like sorting, counting, organizing, and stacking blocks. Science concepts look like observation, hypotheses, cause and effect, and discovering nature. Fine Motor skills are developed by playing with the sand table, doing watercolor painting and other arts and crafts activities, using play tweezers to move pom poms from one bowl to another, and other such tasks. Gross Motor skills are developed by outside time where children can run, jump, climb, use ride-on toys, and play with their friends. We have circle time where we sing songs, learn a vocabulary word, days of the week, and do word songs to improve memory.

Run away!!!! Too much fees, curtains closed all day long, kids stayed in only one little room, kids keep their dirty shoes on the living room, I asked her if there were kids over 2 years for my son she said yes but there were only babies! She has too many rules, she is not pedagogue at all with children, my son is panty free since 7 months, we just move here from France so it was a big change for him, he had pee only once in his pants and she told me that if I want to bring him back to her house he has to wear diapers for 2 weeks! It is really hard for a toddler, he felt to bad there. After only 4 days we decided to stop! We paid 400 dollars just for 4 days, I had to bring his food as it not healthy at all! Don't go there for your child well being!
Response from the provider:
Hi Anne-Sophie, all fees and policies were outlined in the paperwork that was sent home with you the day you toured the program. Children here have access to the daycare room, kitchen, and outdoor areas throughout the day. Our daycare areas meet the standards that DCF outlines for space requirements. At the time you enrolled, there was 1 infant and the rest were over 1 year old, and we had 4 children over age 2 enrolled (some came only 1-3 days a week). All programs have policies so that expectations can be understood by parents and this is a sign of a structured program. All daycares have a policy on potty training regarding accidents and I had mentioned that your son could wear a pull-up over his underwear but that he did need to have an impermeable barrier on so that he wouldn't pee on the rug again. You paid for registration, supply fee, and tuition for 1 week. You decided to bring your child's food since you wanted him to have vegetarian meals 5 days a week and we only offer it 3 days here. All of these details are in the paperwork you signed that you read and agreed to.

Holly is wonderful. You can tell that she truly cares about the kids. The facility is entertaining, but also relaxing. I love that she doesn't have TV's on and there are lots of educational toys that facilitate learning in an exciting way.

We have had our twin sons at Holly’s for approximately one month. They were moved there from a corporate daycare due to frequent illness. We have had a great experience thus far and don’t foresee that changing. Holly is extremely organized and professional. She has all the appropriate accreditation and documentation for running a home daycare. She is loving and sweet to our boys and cares for them as her own. She feeds them a wonderful variety of foods and has been successful in getting them to begin self-feeding. They truly enjoy going there and are always content during drop off. She’s even gone out of her way to send us home with meals and other baked goods. She’s a lovely, intelligent, and talented caregiver and we’re lucky to have her.
