I’m the director and I have 20 years of professional experience in child care and early childhood education. I’m a mom myself with a Master’s Degree in Health Services Management. Our staff are all CPR & First-aid certified, so you can be sure that your child is safe with us.
Our philosophy is to enhance the early learning and development of the whole child by focusing on physical, socio-emotional, language, and cognitive development.
We believe that education begins at birth, and the early years are the most important. We focus on the sequential steps of learning, which is why we provide learning opportunities by communicating and demonstrating proper use of materials.
Our goal is for children to be able to take any task and reduce it to a series of small steps enabling the child the experience to learn best through active participation thereby making the child independent.
Mount Winans Academy follows the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy. We embrace and welcome diversity; family involvement is encouraged and supported in order to provide a healthy and happy child care learning environment.
We offer a home daycare environment, but provides a high-quality educational experience: we believe in learning by doing, and we offer a developmentally appropriate program.
The curriculum consists of:
* Outdoor Play
* Potty Training
* Social Studies
* Current Events
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to midnight. To accommodate working families we provide care in 2 shifts. Please note that our regular tuition is for a maximum of 10 hours of care per day.
We can provide full-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old, including children with special needs. We will provide milk, but children must bring a packed lunch and snacks from home. Our facilities are peanut and tree-nut free. In the summer, we offer a fun summer camp program!
