Welcome to Gunston Cove Playhouse! We are a licensed, home-based daycare located in the family-friendly neighborhood of Gunston Square in Lorton, VA. Our daycare is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. We offer both full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 2 months old, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 4 years old. We're conveniently located near the intersection of Cranford Street and Gunston Cove Road. Our childcare program offers easy access to Richmond Highway (US-1) and I-95 (Shirley Highway). We’re also just minutes away from the Montessori School of Lorton.

Hello Parents! I am the proud owner and primary caregiver of Gunston Cove Playhouse! With over 27 years of experience in childcare, I have dedicated my life to nurturing and supporting children in a safe, loving environment. I am trained and certified in CPR, First Aid, and MAT, ensuring that every child in my care is kept safe and well looked after. As a mother of three, I've spent years at home raising my own children, which deepened my love for caring for little ones and gave me firsthand experience in child development and emotional care. After my children grew up, I realized that my passion for working with kids hadn’t gone away. That’s when I decided to open Gunston Cove Playhouse, where I could continue doing what I love. Gunston Cove Playhouse is a warm, cozy, and welcoming space where every child is treated like family. I’ve created an environment that feels like home, filled with love, comfort, and care. I look forward to welcoming your child into our little community!

At Gunston Cove Playhouse, our daily routine is built around a play-based curriculum that encourages learning through exploration, creativity, and fun. Children engage in activities that teach essential early skills like colors, numbers, shapes, and the ABCs, all through games, puzzles, songs, and hands-on play. We also offer plenty of free play with a wide variety of toys to support imagination, independence, and social development. We spend time outdoors twice a day, if the weather permits, often walking to the nearby park and playground for fresh air and active play. When we return, the children rest in a separate nap room, providing a quiet, peaceful space to recharge. Our afternoons are filled with snacks, creative projects, and more play-based learning.
