Segray is a developmental preschool program of child-led curriculum, for ages one to six years, comprising its two locations, Segray Eagle Rock and Segray at The Oaks. Through interaction with the world around us, mindfulness, and development in each child’s style, and at each child’s pace, our mission is to establish in our children a love for learning, and a foundation for happy, healthy, global citizens. STEM deeply influences our curriculum and is part of our daily routine. Our educators take great care in developing age-appropriate STEM activities for all ages, including our one-year-olds. We implement STEM in a hands-on, tactile manner, then help our young ones examine, describe and build on their experience. At Segray, our passion for nature and hands-on experiences is reflected in our Outdoor Classroom. As one of the Pillars of Segray, our commitment to the outdoor classroom is reflected in our dedicated Outdoor Classroom Coordinator, investment in fixtures and materials specifically for the outdoor classroom, as well as our utilization of the outdoor classroom every day, by every class, at Segray. Our outdoor classroom starts with a simple mission: introduce children to learning through exploration of nature, recycled materials, gardening, and composting in a nurturing preschool setting, so that we may motivate them to “think globally by acting locally.”
