Hi parents, thanks for your interest in Twinbrook Children's Place in Rockville, MD. We're a licensed home-based daycare and preschool located in the Twinbrook neighborhood. My home daycare is very accessible to all commuters since I’m right off Veirs Mill Rd (route 586), and 5-10 minutes’ away from Rockville Pike, Norbeck Rd and the I-270.
About Me
I’m the owner and main caregiver of this spacious family child care and preschool program, and I have 27 years of professional experience. I’m CPR & First-aid certified, so you can be sure that your little one is safe at all times. My goal is to provide nurturing care and quality early education in a loving and safe learning environment.
Curriculum
Twinbrook Children's Place follows the Play-based learning approach, allowing children to learn through play and fun, educational activities. My curriculum focuses on child's independence and social-emotional development. I have a no-TV policy and keep my young students busy with lots of learning activities including circle time, music, reading, and lots of arts and crafts.
My daycare is well decorated and offers lots of age-appropriate learning materials and toys. I also have a playground where we spend our outdoor playtime (weather permitting). In addition to English, I speak Sinhalese and upon your request, I can teach your child this foreign language (however, please note that my daycare is not a bilingual daycare).
Program
My daycare is open year-round from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer various child care options to accommodate working families. I can provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 1 week, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs.
Children attending full-time are served with lunch and snacks (both meals included in the tuition). Drop-in care is a suitable option for parents looking for occasional needs only. In the summer, I run a fun summer camp program. For school-age kids up to 12 years old, I offer before and after school care (I’m close to Meadow Hall Elementary School).
I have very strict COVID guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone (i.e. taking temperature before dropping off, etc.).

My child absolutely loves coming to daycare everyday. She lights up when she sees the owner each morning. Every time I pick her up, she is so pleasant, so I know she is well taken care of. She is a great communicator and keeps me in the loop everyday. I know she genuinely cares about my little girl, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice in a daycare for her.

Great daycare run by a wonderful, loving family. They have a big beautiful dedicated childcare space - indoor and outdoor. Kids are an extension of their family/are treated as part. Bonus points for a wonderful nanny dog named Timothy.

The provider and her family did a spectacular job watching my twin daughters (age 5). I can't recommend this Child Care enough! Our daughter has been going to this in-home daycare facility for the last 4 months. I was especially nervous for her to start, but she has been well taken care of and loves being there and it's clear the caretakers also love her. We've had our daughter in daycare with this family child care for almost half a year now and we're very pleased with our choice. I have nothing but good things to say about this provider. Our daughter is now 7 months old and has been going here for about 3 months. Our daughter has been at this place since she was 5 months. Since the first day, she was happy and well taken care of. At every drop off, I know that my daughter will be taken care of, and I have nothing to worry about.
