Welcome to Little River Spanish Children's Den, my Spanish Immersion daycare and preschool in Annandale, VA. My family child care program is located in the Little River Square apartment complex, near the intersection of Little River Turnpike (route 236) and Columbia Pike (route 244). I'm very close to the Little River Shopping Center and a few minutes drive from the I-495.
About me:
I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 7 years of child care experience. I’m CPR & First-aid certified, so you can be sure that your child is safe with me at all times. At my daycare, each child receives plenty of individualized attention since I only accept a maximum of 4 children.
I’m very passionate about child care and early childhood education, which is why I open my own daycare! There’s never a dull moment working with kids – they are energetic, genuine, honest, and they always put a smile on my face.
Program:
Little River Spanish Children's Den is a Spanish immersion early education program with most of the communication in Spanish (though I can communicate with parents in English, if needed). So, it’s a wonderful opportunity for your little one to become bilingual!
I’m open throughout the year from 7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. If needed, I can provide weekend care on Saturdays and Sundays (please email to ask about the rate for extended weekend care). I follow the Play-based learning approach which allows kids to learn through play and if weather permits, I bring the kids to the nearby community playground.
I can accommodate full-time, part-time, and drop-in care for infants as young as 3 months old, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 7 years old. Peanut-free and tree-nut free lunch and snacks are already included in the tuition. For older kids, I offer before and after school care (my home is close to Annandale Terrace Elementary School and Braddock Elementary School).

I am writing to enthusiastically endorse the infant and childcare skills of this caregiver. This wonderful woman essentially raised my two sons, and I could not be more proud of, or grateful for, her knowledge, skills, and expertise.
When I brought my first child to her care, it was with a great deal of trepidation as an anxious and overprotective new mom. I left a two-page document explaining my baby’s eating patterns, sleeping struggles, behavioral tendencies, and more. I explained ad nauseum all of my concerns and, after listening for quite some time, she simply responded, “Don’t worry, Ms. Sarah, I will listen to him and make sure he has what he needs.” Such a simple, profound statement! Candidly, it changed my whole view of parenting – She knew then that even at 6 months my little boy was capable of communicating and interacting independently with the world around him! What a paradigm shift!
When I brought my second child to her care, I simply smiled and asked her to let me know if she needed me to do anything to support the transition. I had, and still have, complete trust in her intellect and ability to understand a baby’s needs and effectively communicate with infants and toddlers verbally or nonverbally, as their development allows. She sets firm boundaries and couples her expectations with love and comfort, such that babies/children trust her and are willing to grow and thrive knowing that she will scaffold their physical growth and cognitive development.
Time and time again, I have found myself asking her opinion of my children’s temperament fussiness, changes in eating behavior, potty training strategies, and more. Time and time again, her love for my children makes me feel completely at ease. I know all children are in incredibly capable hands with her and

She provided excellent care for our two sons, from the time they were 4 months old until they turned 4 years old. We cannot recommend her enough. She was responsive to each child's unique personality and needs, and provided age appropriate care and activities to nurture and engage with our children.
She also approached her care of our boys as a collaboration, which led to fruitful conversations and consistency across the home and daycare environments. From bottle-feeding to potty training, she kept us informed of our boys' development, was flexible in working with them, and reinforced healthy routines. We deeply appreciate the strong foundation she helped provide to our boys in their infancy and toddlerhood.
We feel fortunate and lucky to have had her care for our sons and highly recommend her and the childcare services she provides!

The caregiver has been absolutely wonderful with our family. She was with our twin boys who are now almost 8, as well as our 2.5 year old daughter. All of our children have loved her. Everyday that I picked my daughter up and asked her what she did that day, she would tell me that she held her hand and played with her. She is so sweet with all of the kids, and my daughter was instantly attracted to her and her approach with kids. I highly recommend her as a caregiver!
