When we moved to Bowie, the daycare we had arranged fell through and we had to scramble to find a spot for our 18-month old. We were so lucky to stumble on Garden of Joy. Martha has 30 years of experience running her own in-home daycare (before that she worked with special needs kids). She’s calm, patient, and firm. Her daughter, Alicia, is warm and energetic. The two were great with our daughter during the hard transition to a new home, routine, and daycare.
Martha is licensed for 8 kids (4 under age 2). She is also part of the food program, providing breakfast, lunch, and milk (she can provide a menu if you’d like one). This was a real benefit to us as busy parents. Moving from a large center, we lost some of the bells and whistles (apps & email alerts), but gained individualized care. Martha focuses on your child’s capabilities, needs, and development. She has a clear sense of what are age appropriate milestones and tailors the daily activities to each child to make sure they don’t get bored or feel pressured. She focuses on integrating learning into daily play. Our daughter is very happy with Martha and Alicia.
