Welcome to Mount Hebron Discovery House! 🏡 We're a state-licensed, bilingual English-Russian daycare in Ellicott City, MD. At our in-home child care and preschool program, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy a warm, family-style environment filled with learning, play, and personal attention.
Our daycare is located in the family-friendly Mount Hebron subdivision, just off Old Frederick Road and Mount Hebron Drive, with easy access to Columbia Pike (US 29) and the I-70. We're also just a few minutes from Hollifield Station Elementary School.
Mount Hebron Discovery House is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. We welcome toddlers and preschoolers ages 12 months to 5 years, offering flexible child care options to accommodate different family schedules.

Hello, parents! 👋 I'm the founder and main caregiver at Mount Hebron Discovery House. I graduated with a Master's Degree in Language & Literature, and have over 23 years of experience in early childhood education. I'm also CPR and First Aid certified, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel happy and secure is always my priority.
My educational background, years of teaching experience, and genuine love for children shape the way I care for and teach each child. My approach to child care goes beyond teaching basic skills. I believe every child is unique, and I love encouraging their curiosity, nurturing their individuality, and celebrating their accomplishments, no matter how small.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is the lasting relationships I've built with families over the years. These connections have created a close-knit community built on trust, friendship, and a sense of belonging. My greatest joy is knowing that children feel comfortable being themselves in my home, while parents have peace of mind knowing their little ones are cared for as if they were my own. 🥰

In 2017, I carefully chose and designed my home with the dream of creating an exceptional child care environment. Drawing on my years of experience as a teacher, educator, and daycare owner, I planned every area with children's needs in mind. Our home features bright, spacious rooms, dedicated activity spaces, a large yard, and a specially equipped playground and veranda for year-round play, all nestled in a peaceful, green neighborhood.

Every day at Mount Hebron Discovery House is filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and have fun! Our activities combine early academic learning with hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and creativity. Children design personalized alphabet books with handmade crafts and poems, sing lively number songs, and enjoy fun math activities that help build important skills through play.
Our garden serves as a hands-on classroom where children plant cucumbers, watch them grow, and enjoy harvesting them throughout the summer. Feeding birds and squirrels helps teach compassion and respect for nature, while making homemade holiday gifts for parents gives children a special way to express their creativity and love.
To further enrich their development, professional teachers lead weekly classes in yoga, music, and English speech development. These activities help children strengthen their communication skills, coordination, and self-confidence while enjoying new learning experiences.
