About

Little Owlets Academy - early learning center with the focus on the intellectual, moral, social, emotional and physical needs of each child. Our goal is to keep the lights in your children's eyes on at all times and into their adult lives. When babies are born, their eyes are filled with so much joy, curiosity and bliss we call that lights! These little beings want to play, please and love. As they mature into toddlers, children, teenagers and then adults the lights start dimming down as play turns into work, pleasure turns into effort and love turns into hurt. Our program is based on years of research by family therapists and scientists, who put the biggest focus on keeping the lights on through interactive play, no matter the age. We extend our approach into the families of each child. Our primary focus is on: - Establishing a safe and nurturing environment - Respecting rules and boundaries - Discovering talents and abilities - Learning through projects and other team-based activities - Engaging families in everything that we do - Learning from each other We focus on intellectual, moral, social, emotional and physical needs of each child. Our teachers are highly trained professionals who love working with young children and are passionate about the work they do. A big portion of our curriculum is education in different languages and cultures. We address each aspect of Maslows Hierarchy of needs as follows: Self-Actualization needs our individual work with the children is focused on setting up conditions in a way that allows for creativity in the areas the child is curious about and allows them to fulfil their full potential. Esteem needs our group and project based activities are focused on promoting the feeling of accomplishment and collaboration. Belonging and Love needs: - our environment is warm, nurturing and welcoming. Our curriculum is based on the work of child and family systems psychologists, such as Jean Piaget, Maria Montessori, Dr. Adler, Dr. Bogdanov, Dr. Sage and Dr. Dinkmeyer. Safety needs: - our centers are fully safe proof, the layout is very carefully planned out. We inspect and sanitize our toys and equipment on a daily basis. Our teachers are CPR/First Aid certified. Physiological needs we provide home prepared meals, warm and clean rooms, plenty of time for rest and for outdoor/indoor physical activities.

Finding the right childcare as a first time parent is a daunting task, but we couldnt have been happier at Little Owlets. So much that my child spent 4 great years at Owlets and we all cried a bit when we moved out of state and had to leave. I cant say enough about the warm, family-like environment. Teachers and classmates became a second family for my child, and families were really encouraged to get to know each other through events and gatherings. It felt like Owlets was a support system even outside of school hours. We loved the balance between structure and free play and really felt like Little Owlets prepared my daughter very well socially and knowledge-wise for kindergarten - the transition to elementary school was a breeze. My child LOVED the Montessori-inspired activity time and still talks about it. And there were so many creative and fun activities - cooking, yoga....We loved that outdoor time was emphasized in all but the worst weather and the kids got in quality outside play and exercise time. Oh, and the food was so good - I found myself envious of my childs lunches.

I scrupulously researched child care after a mandatory work schedule change. I did not want to put my child in child care. Who could provide her care like I or her family could? And when I find that person or center, the cost? Who can afford that?! Let me tell you, this is the day care that is a one stop shop in every facet possible. -Daily Reports via an app -Photos -Freshly prepared homemade meals, snacks, liquids (organic) -Multi-Lingual Education -A warm and loving environment -Responsive staff -Open communication for any concerns, whatsoever -Convenient location -Flexible hours -Family field trips planned throughout the year -Customer service oriented -Montessori style curriculum -Reasonably priced, in competition with the area My child has flourished since starting 7 months ago. She responds in and understands more than one language. She is provided with nutritious meals that vary to encourage trying new foods. Her teachers, Director, and I have open communication to facilitate any changes in my child's development or any other concerns I may have. I am provided with daily reports as to what my child was taught, nap length, what she ate, toileting habits, and photographs. In regards to the price, with all of the above included, no one in the area can truly compete with this establishment. The Montessori style curriculum has encouraged independence in my child. She comes home at the end of the week with all of the projects she has completed. I am so happy that the stars aligned for my child to attend at this child care and I would recommend it to anyone looking for care where you mind is at ease to know your child is safe, educated, looked after, cared for, and loved.

My daughter recently started going to Little Owlets childcare. She is not even 1.5 yo, and I was a bit nervous saying goodbye to her, even if for a couple of hours. But my nerves were calmed by the wonderful people who work there. It has been about a month, and my daughter is ready to stay there for a couple of full days a week. I really appreciate the individual, very kind, approach each child receives. And I love the fact that there are clear guidelines for the kids, too. The kiddos have a lot to learn and the instructors provide the children with a great opportunity to do so every day through different activities (play, music, arts and crafts, little lessons, outside play), and still it feels very family-like! I am very happy to have found this place for my daughter.
