On the strong and heartfelt recommendation of several neighbors, our daughter went to Lucy's for two years starting at age 2. She had an extremely shy temperament, and had a very difficult time separating from us, but Lucy was confident and able to give her the loving attention and affection she needed to make the adjustment to day care, while still being there for the other children. In our daughter's second year, she was a little older than most of the other kids, and Lucy made sure to give her age-appropriate activities and challenges. But the best part is that "family" is not just the name of the center. Our daughter continues to play with her friends from Lucy's, on into elementary school. And Lucy and her family keeps in touch and has annual get-togethers so that her alumni families are truly connected for life. There is nothing like knowing that a teacher truly loves your child, to feel rooted in your neighborhood and community.
