I thank God for Karen Lorelli. She was exactly what my family needed with our first child. She's warm, loving, fun, thoughtful and most importantly to us at the time, laid back and understanding. She was patient when I was unsure about some things as a new parent - gently offering advice when I needed it on things like how best to take a temperature, how to teach boundaries to babies (not to hit, or how to share), and how to prepare for welcoming another family member. As a mother herself, Karen is wise - she knew things before I did and gently made suggestions that I was very grateful for once I realized we needed what she had previously offered. Another thing I really appreciate about Karen is that she has been doing childcare for a long time so she knows how she wants to run her business and what's best for her happiness too. For example, she works with teachers so she can have summers off. She offers care for children up until about age three, preschool time. I like this about her because she is not trying to cram kids into her care for more money year-round. She knows her home is best situated for the younger children, before they need various structured activities that are appropriate for preschool age. To me this is a benefit - a happy caregiver means happy children! I am glad she balances her family life (taking a vacation and holidays off), while offering a warm and comfortable home environment. Also, as a bonus - her entire family is VERY nice and I often sat talking with them as they too played with the kids. Also, she plans a play date in the summer so the kids stay familiar with her and each other. This shows the children's comfort is important to Karen. What more could you really want than that - someone who is thoughtful about you and your child's feelings? In summary, any family who has Karen caring for their children is a lucky family! I recommend her 100%.
