Ximena and her family welcomed my son and daughter into their home and provided them a safe, loving environment to learn and grow while my husband and I worked. Though both of my children are now in elementary school, we still consider Ximena and her family an extension of our own.
I began taking my son to Ximena when he was about 6 months old. I worked from home part-time, and was a new mother who was apprehensive about leaving my baby in any sort of daycare. Ximena understood the level of trust a parent places in anyone who cares for their precious child, and she helped us through the transition.During our first visit, rather than try to convince me how well my son would be cared for while I was away, she immediately began tofocus on bonding with him. That spoke volumes to me because I knew then that his comfort was her primary concern!
Over the course of hte next year, Ximena was extremly flexibl with my varied work schedule as I eased into being away from my son and working more hours. She helped me so much with parenting advice, and eve a good hug and reassurance when I got emotional as I said goodbye for the day. I've often been asked to describe my experience to new parents considering Ximena to be their child's care provider, and I always tell them how distrustful I was of childcare before I met Ximena. I tell them how well we coped with our time apart during the day because of her. I enjoyed the ability to focus on my work. I missed my children, of course, but I didn't worry abou them when they were with Ximena and her staff. I was able to reduce my "mom guilt" because I knew that my children were safe and happy, enjoying their time away from home. I knew my son was enjoying playing with his friends, learning to read and write, and doing math and science, while also learning to temper his extroversion. I knew my daughter was learning to come out of her shell to play with her friends, and that she'd learn her alphabet and her numbers, mother her dolls, and paint me a new masterpiece. I knew that they would both sing songs, learn Spanish, play outside, and do puzzles, which was far more than they'd be able to do had I kept them home with me watching a movie while I worked.
Our family is indebted to Ximena for the wonderful role she has played in the growth of our children. She is a wonderful woman with a big heart! I can't say enough good things about her daycare or her staff!
