Welcome to Hunting Creek Children's Place, a home-based daycare and preschool located in the family-friendly Hunting Creek subdivision in Alexandria, VA. Our child care program is conveniently located just off Richmond Hwy (US-1) and N. Kings Hwy (SR-241), making drop-off and pick-up easy for busy parents. We are also just minutes from Mount Eagle Park and Kings Crossing Shopping Center.

Program:

We offer year-round daycare and preschool services in Alexandria, VA, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours to support working families. Our program opens as early as 6:00 am and offers evening care until 11:00 pm.

We provide full-time, part-time, and drop-in child care for infants (starting at 1 month old), toddlers, and preschool-aged children up to 5 years old. Tuition includes daily meals prepared in a peanut- and tree-nut–free kitchen to support children with food allergies.

About Me

Hello parents! I am the owner and primary caregiver at Hunting Creek Children's Place. I hold a Master's degree in Information Systems and am CPR certified. I speak both English and Arabic and can introduce your child to a second language and culture if desired.

With over 25 years of experience working with children as a substitute teacher, I have supported young learners across different stages of development. This experience inspired me to create a nurturing, safe, and engaging child care environment where every child feels supported and valued.

Opening Hunting Creek Children's Place has allowed me to build a program focused on care, trust, and quality. My goal is to provide a clean, structured, and welcoming space where children can grow and families can feel confident in their choice of care.

Mission:

At our daycare and preschool in Alexandria, VA, we believe every child is unique and full of potential. Early childhood is a critical time for growth and discovery, and our program is designed to support that journey.

We use a play-based curriculum that incorporates early reading, writing, puzzles, and hands-on learning activities. This approach helps children build foundational skills while developing a love of learning 😊

Daily Activities:

Each day begins with a cheerful morning circle time where children sing songs, greet their friends, and explore the day’s theme, such as colors, weather, or stories. This helps set a positive tone for the day.

Children then participate in structured learning activities, including puzzles, early writing, and age-appropriate reading exercises that support cognitive development.

Creative play is also an important part of our routine. Children explore pretend play, building blocks, and role-playing activities that encourage imagination and social skills. We include daily storytime to build vocabulary and comprehension, along with music and movement activities to keep children active and engaged.

We also provide quiet time for rest, reading, or calm play in our cozy tent area. In the afternoon, children enjoy hands-on activities such as art projects, shape sorting, and group games that promote creativity and teamwork. Our balanced schedule supports each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth in a warm and structured environment.
