Hi parents, and welcome to Skyview Park Children’s Place! We are a home-based daycare and preschool program in Alexandria, VA, located in the Skyview Park neighborhood. Our child care program is conveniently near Manor Drive and Fyre Road, with quick access to Richmond Highway (US 1). We’re also just minutes from Woodlawn Elementary School and Woodlawn Park, making drop-offs and pick-ups simple and stress-free for busy families.

Program:

We are open year-round, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. We offer both full-time and part-time child care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. Healthy snacks are included in tuition and are always prepared in a peanut- and tree-nut-free environment. Nutritious lunches are also available for an additional fee.

About Me:

I am the owner and primary caregiver of Skyview Park Children’s Place. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and I am CPR and First Aid certified. I opened this program out of a genuine love for children and a desire to create a safe, dependable child care space where families could feel supported.

For me, this is more than just a job, it’s a daily adventure! Children are curious, honest, and full of surprises. They keep me creative, encourage me to see the world in new ways, and remind me to find joy in the little things. Every day I get to laugh, play, stay active, and most importantly, be part of each child’s growth and learning journey.

I am fluent in English, Amharic, and German, and upon request, I can introduce children to these languages through songs, books, and simple conversations, enriching their cultural awareness.

Safety and security are always our top priorities, giving parents peace of mind that their little ones are cared for and valued every single day.

We also know how important communication is for families. Through clear updates and transparent policies, we build trust and keep parents informed. Our goal is not only to care for your child but also to support your whole family with dependable, high-quality child care.

Daily Routine:

Our daily routine is carefully designed to support children’s development through fun, hands-on learning. Each day begins with handwashing activities that teach healthy habits and the importance of hygiene. These routines also strengthen fine motor and sensory skills as children practice lathering, rinsing, and drying.

Throughout the day, children enjoy a variety of play-based activities that encourage creativity, movement, and social interaction. Sensory play with rice bins and playdough, pretend play like cooking or being a doctor, and building with blocks all inspire exploration and problem-solving. We also include dancing, movement games, painting, and drawing, which help children express themselves while developing coordination and motor skills.

Early literacy and math concepts are woven into play as well. Letter and number games, scavenger hunts, alphabet stamping, and story time with music and movement make learning fun and age-appropriate. Every activity at Skyview Park Children’s Place is built to help children gain the confidence and skills they need for future learning.
