Hi parents, and welcome to Franconia Forest Kids Playhouse! 🤗 We are a licensed, home-based daycare and preschool program located in the family-friendly Franconia Forest neighborhood of Alexandria, VA. Conveniently situated just off Franconia Road (VA 644) and South Van Dorn Street, our child care program offers easy access to Beulah Street (SR 613), the Capital Beltway (I-495), and I-95, making daily drop-offs and pick-ups easier for busy families.

Program:

Franconia Forest Kids Playhouse is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. We offer both full-time and part-time child care for infants as young as 2 months old, toddlers, and preschoolers up to 4 years of age.

Healthy, nutritious daily snacks are included in tuition, and all snacks are peanut- and tree nut-free as a precaution for potential allergies. We also offer tuition discounts for families enrolling siblings, parents or guardians who are teachers, and military families to help make quality child care more affordable.

Your child's health and safety are also a top priority. To help maintain a clean and healthy environment, I regularly sanitize surfaces, tables, and high chairs, and check each child's temperature upon arrival.

About Me:

I am the owner and primary caregiver at Franconia Forest Kids Playhouse. I'm CPR and First Aid certified and have over 10 years of experience in child care. I care for a maximum of five children, creating a small, family-oriented environment where each child receives plenty of individualized attention, love, and support!

My genuine love and compassion for children inspired me to open my own home daycare. As a mother myself, I understand how important it is to feel confident about the person caring for your little one. I'm committed to giving every child the same love, patience, and care that I would want for my own child. Running my own daycare has allowed me to turn my passion into a fulfilling career while helping children learn, grow, and thrive.

In addition to English, I'm also fluent in Amharic. If you're interested, I'd be happy to introduce your child to a second language and a different culture in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate way. I look forward to welcoming your family, building a trusting relationship with you, and supporting your child's growth and development every step of the way! 🥰

Daily Activities:

Every day at Franconia Forest Kids Playhouse includes story time, mealtimes, nap time, and plenty of playtime! Through fun and engaging songs and dance activities, children also learn about the days of the week, months, shapes, colors, and numbers.

I also document each child's daily activities and share updates with parents, so you can stay informed and involved in your little one's day. This helps you stay connected to your child's daily experiences and learning.
