Location

Welcome to Barcroft Terrace Kiddie Cove, our licensed home-based daycare and preschool in Alexandria, VA! We are located in the quiet Barcroft Terrace neighborhood, just off Barcroft Ln, with convenient access to Columbia Pike Rd (SR 244) and Lincolnia Rd (SR 613). Our daycare is also just a few minutes from Glasgow Park and Parklawn Elementary School, making us a convenient child care option for local families.

Program

We are open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. We offer full-time and part-time child care for infants as young as 6 weeks old, as well as care for toddlers and preschoolers.

For children up to 12 years old, we also provide flexible before- and after-school care, along with drop-in care for occasional child care needs. Tuition includes daily well-balanced meals, prepared in our peanut- and tree nut-free kitchen to help provide a safe environment for children with allergies.

About Me

Hello, parents! 👋 I’m the owner and primary caregiver at Barcroft Terrace Kiddie Cove. I have over 6 years of child care experience, hold a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, and am certified in CPR and First Aid. In addition to English, I am fluent in Urdu and would be happy to introduce your little one to a second language while sharing elements of another culture in a fun and engaging way.

I truly love what I do because it allows me to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives and helps children feel safe, happy, and cared for each day. Building strong, trusting relationships with parents is also very important to me.

As a parent myself, I understand that working together helps ensure every child receives the care and support they need. I am committed to providing a place where children and families in my community feel welcomed, supported, and confident in the care they receive.

Daily Activities

We follow a play-based curriculum because children learn best through exploration, creativity, and meaningful interaction with others. Each day begins with group time, when children come together for songs, stories, and conversations about the day ahead.

We also introduce early learning concepts such as letters, numbers, and colors in fun and engaging ways that encourage children to participate, listen, and express themselves.

When the weather is nice, we enjoy outdoor play so children can run, move freely, and get fresh air. Outdoor time also helps support gross motor development, coordination, and confidence while giving children opportunities to build friendships and explore the world around them.

By combining structured learning with active play and exploration, our daily routine supports each child’s development in a nurturing, engaging environment where learning happens naturally every day.
