Sonshine Bible School, Arlington

In September 1981 in a growing section of southwest Arlington, Pleasant Ridge church of Christ began a preschool ministry, known as Sonshine Bible School, to serve families as a one day mother's day out program. By 1983 two day classes were added for two-four years old children. Enrollment grew to 176 children cared for by a staff of 36 in November 1992 when a fire destroyed the classroom facility which housed the school. Quick action by the school's directors and the generosity of a local church allowed Sonshine Bible School to reopen within two days. The school completed two school years there before returning to the rebuilt Pleasant Ridge building. We continue to provide quality care for families who enroll their children and refer others to us.
