Welcome to Kings Crossing Kids Playhouse, our licensed family child care and preschool program in Boyds, MD. Our daycare is nestled in the Kings Crossing neighborhood, off Richter Farm Rd and Clopper Rd (route 117), near Ronald McNair Elementary School. We’re also close to Germantown Rd (route 118), Great Seneca Hwy (route 119), Father Hurley Blvd, and Middlebrook Rd. Perfect for your daily commute to work!
We provide year-round child care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years of age. We’re open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Our program offers full-time, part-time, and drop-in care (based on availability) to meet the unique needs of the families in our community.
Children in our care are provided with daily nutritious lunches and snacks, which are included in the tuition for those 18 months and older. We strive to create a safe setting for all children; as such, we ensure that we maintain a tree-nut and peanut-free environment.
At Kings Crossing Kids Playhouse we are committed to helping every child develop independence, confidence, respect, and a love of learning. Our goal is to ensure each child feels safe, happy, and supported every day.
Hi, parents! I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 10 years of experience and a Master’s Degree in Science. I run my daycare with my assistant who has 35 years of experience, and we’re both moms so completely understand your child care needs and concerns.
All staff members have gone through extensive background checks, and we’re all CPR & First-aid certified, so you can be sure that all children in our daycare are safe. We also provide regular ongoing professional development training with a strong emphasis on teacher collaboration.
Kings Crossing Kids Playhouse is more than a home-based daycare, we offer local families a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, our program blends hands-on experiences, purposeful play, and child-led discovery to encourage independence, confidence, focus, and practical life skills.
We understand that every child develops in their own way, so we provide individualized opportunities that support each child's unique pace of learning while fostering strong social-emotional growth and early academic readiness.
Our curriculum also incorporates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities that inspire creativity, curiosity, communication, and critical thinking. Throughout the day, children engage in sensory experiences, early literacy activities, music and movement, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and cooperative group learning.
To further enrich their experience at Kings Crossing Kids Playhouse, we offer creative art projects, field trips, and regular visits to a nearby community park, where children can explore nature, stay active, and enjoy fresh air in a fun and engaging setting.
