Community School for People under Six opened in September 1970 as a parent/staff cooperative to provide affordable, quality child care for low- and middle-income families. Located originally between Black and white communities to act as a bridge, the school continues to serve a diverse community. It teaches children to recognize and appreciate cultural, physical, national, and racial differences, promoting inclusivity, teamwork, and understanding to foster harmony in a diverse world.
