Welcome to Shady Grove Children's Place, our licensed daycare and preschool in Rockville, MD. Conveniently located right off Muncaster Mill Rd (Hwy 115) in the Redland-Derwood area of Rockville, MD, our child care facility is just moments away from Shady Grove Rd, the I-370, and Maryland State Route 200.

About the Owner

As the owner and primary caregiver at Shady Grove Children's Place, I'm a devoted mother of 3 children, with 6 years of experience in child care. I hold an Associate's Degree in Computer Science and I am deeply passionate about fostering a supportive and educational environment for children.

I decided to open my own daycare because of my love for nurturing young minds and witnessing their developmental milestones. I strive to provide a clean, secure, and compassionate space where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Program Information

We are dedicated to providing high-quality care and early childhood education for infants as young as 3 months, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. We also provide before and after school care for kids up to 12 years old.

We are open year-round from 7:00am - 5:30pm, and offer various schedule options, including full-time care, part-time care, as well as drop-in care. To ensure the safety and well-being of all children in our care, we operate a peanut and tree-nut-free environment.

Philosophy & Curriculum

At Shady Grove Children's Place, we embrace a play-based teaching philosophy as well as Montessori principles. Our goal is to ensure that children reach their developmental milestones in a loving and supportive environment. I speak Urdu in addition to English, and can introduce your child to a foreign language and culture (upon parent request only).

Our curriculum encourages learning through play, and we incorporate Montessori-inspired activities to stimulate children's growth across all developmental areas. A typical day at our daycare includes engaging activities such as circle time, learning numbers, reading, arts and crafts tailored for toddlers, outdoor play in our fenced playground, and a dedicated nap period in our separate nap room.
