Welcome to Oxon Hill Kids Playhouse, a licensed in-home daycare and preschool program offering high-quality child care in Fort Washington, MD. Our cozy, family-style environment is located in the neighborhood of Fort Foote Forest, just minutes from Fort Foote Elementary School. We're very accessible to commuters since we're right off Oxon Hill Rd (MD-414), and a few minutes from Piscataway Hwy (route 210).

Oxon Hill Kids Playhouse is a bilingual Spanish daycare and preschool offering flexible child care options designed to fit the unique needs and schedules of today’s busy families. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, and program options include Full-time care, Part-time care, Before and after school care, as well as Drop-in care. We welcome children from birth to 12 years old, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. We’re also proud to support children with special needs, with particular experience caring for those with Hyperactivity and Down Syndrome. Nutritious, home-cooked meals are included in tuition, with all food prepared in a peanut-free and tree-nut-free environment to ensure the safety of children with allergies.

Hi parents! I'm the owner and primary caregiver at Oxon Hill Kids Playhouse. With over 20 years of hands-on experience in early childhood care, I’m passionate about helping children grow into confident, kind, and capable individuals. Your child’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I’m certified in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Training (MAT), so you can feel secure knowing your little one is in experienced, loving hands every day. Before opening my own program, I spent several years as a daycare assistant. This experience deepened my passion for early childhood education and helped shape the calm, nurturing environment I offer today. I approach each day with patience, joy, and respect, guiding children through play, encouragement, and gentle structure. As a parent myself, I understand the challenges of raising children while juggling daily responsibilities. That’s why I strive to be more than just a caregiver: I want to be a partner in your child’s development and a trusted source of support for your family.

At Oxon Hill Kids Playhouse, we create a calm, loving, and home-like environment where children feel secure, inspired, and free to explore. We offer individualized attention, thoughtful guidance, and strong communication, so you always feel connected and confident. A core part of our curriculum is Spanish language immersion. Families are often amazed at how quickly and naturally their children begin to understand and speak Spanish. Our fun, engaging, and consistent approach integrates language into daily activities and play. Learning also happens beyond the classroom. We regularly go on fun, educational outings, like visits to local museums and zoos. This gives children the chance to explore the world around them and learn through real-life experiences.

Our day begins with arrival and breakfast, often accompanied by soft background music to create a calm and cheerful start. After breakfast and cleanup, we transition into 30 minutes of guided learning in the playroom, where children explore simple yet enriching topics like colors, vegetables, and numbers. Next comes free indoor play, followed by outdoor time around 10:00 am (weather permitting). Outdoor play gives children a chance to move, enjoy nature, and engage in unstructured exploration in a safe, supervised space. Before lunch, we assist with diaper changes and hygiene routines, helping children clean up and transition smoothly. Afternoons are filled with creative activities, such as arts and crafts, extended learning sessions, or individual therapy time, if needed. As the day winds down, children enjoy free play and gentle transitions into pick-up time. Every part of our daily rhythm is designed to be balanced, nurturing, and joyful, to support your child’s development while keeping their experience fun and comforting. Thank you for considering us!
