Program

Summer Hill Discovery House is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. We offer both full-time and part-time care for infants, including newborns, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old.

Healthy, nutritious snacks are provided daily at no extra cost. Our goal is to give families a dependable child care option where children feel safe, cared for, and excited to learn each day.

About Me

Hello, parents! I am the proud owner and main caregiver of Summer Hill Discovery House. My passion for caring for children and supporting their growth during their most important early years inspired me to open my own home daycare.

With over 7 years of hands-on experience in child care, I wanted to create a welcoming place where children feel safe, happy, and encouraged to explore, learn, and be themselves. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security and am certified in CPR and First Aid.

Watching children gain new skills, build self-confidence, and develop their own unique personalities is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. I also believe that strong, trusting relationships with families are essential because children benefit most when parents and caregivers work together.

My commitment is to provide a caring and supportive environment where children can thrive, families can have confidence and peace of mind, and lasting memories are made. It is a privilege to be part of each child’s early years, and I look forward to helping them learn, grow, and shine.

Daily Activities

Our days at Summer Hill Discovery House begin with a cheerful morning welcome, followed by free play activities that help children settle in, explore their interests, and build independence. We then gather for circle time, where we sing songs, share stories, talk about the calendar and weather, and enjoy group conversations that support communication and social connection.

Throughout the morning, children participate in early learning activities focused on letters, sounds, numbers, shapes, colors, and problem-solving. We also include arts and crafts to encourage creativity and fine motor development, along with sensory play experiences such as water, sand, play dough, and sensory bins.

Music and movement are also part of our routine, helping children build rhythm, coordination, and confidence in self-expression. Social-emotional learning is woven throughout the day as children practice cooperation, empathy, self-discipline, and positive interactions with others.

We include reading and literacy activities to strengthen language skills, as well as science and discovery experiences through hands-on experiments. When the weather allows, children enjoy outdoor play that supports physical development, discovery, and gross motor skills.

Healthy snacks are provided during the day, followed by a calm rest period in our dedicated nap room, which is designed for quiet sleep and relaxation. Later in the day, children explore learning centers, puzzles, building activities, and imaginative play.

We also offer occasional field trips that give children real-world learning experiences beyond the four walls of Summer Hill Discovery House. Each day is designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning through meaningful play and exploration.
