Welcome to Old Towne Kids Playhouse in Gaithersburg, MD! We are a licensed in-home daycare and preschool program located in the heart of the historic district in Olde Towne Gaithersburg, MD. Our location is easily accessible from the intersection of S Frederick Ave (MD-355) and I-370, and we’re just a short walk from Constitution Gardens Park and only a few minutes from Gaithersburg Elementary School.

Program:

We’re open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Our daycare offers both full-time and part-time child care options for infants as young as 6 weeks old, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years of age. Healthy snacks are provided daily and included in tuition. To protect children with allergies, we maintain a strict peanut-free and tree nut-free environment.

About Me:

Hello parents! I'm the proud owner and main caregiver at Old Towne Kids Playhouse. I bring over five years of experience in early childhood care, a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, and a CPR certification. My professional background began in IT, but my heart has always been with children.

My journey into child care began through volunteering at a Sunday school, where I discovered the joy that comes from nurturing young minds. Those years shaped my passion for early education and inspired me to create a space where children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to grow.

I believe that caring for children is both a great responsibility and a privilege. I strive to build strong partnerships with families based on trust, communication, and shared values. My goal is for every child to feel seen, supported, and valued, and to leave each day a little happier than they arrived. I can’t wait to welcome your family into our warm and loving community!

Philosophy:

At Old Towne Kids Playhouse, every child is cared for with the same love and attention we would give our own. We take the time to understand each child’s unique personality, interests, and needs. Our approach combines structured routines with flexibility, allowing children to learn and grow through a balance of guided activities, creative exploration, and unstructured play.

We aim to be more than just a daycare, we want to be a 'home away from home'. What sets us apart is the heart behind everything we do. Every moment and activity is built on genuine connection and intentional care, ensuring each child feels safe, supported, and truly cherished.

Daily Routine:

Our daily schedule is thoughtfully designed to keep children engaged, active, and excited to learn. Activities include story time, arts and crafts, music, and foundational learning exercises that promote early development in a fun and nurturing environment.

Inspired by my experience as a Sunday school volunteer, I’ve learned how to make learning both fun and meaningful. For toddlers, we gently introduce basic reading and writing skills to help prepare them for preschool and kindergarten. Through creative play and hands-on experiences, children develop fine motor skills, express themselves freely, and build confidence while socializing with peers.

By making learning a joyful part of everyday life, we help children cultivate a love of discovery that sets the stage for future success.
