Welcome to Walnut Hill Kids Playhouse, a state-licensed daycare in Gaithersburg, MD! 👋 Our child care and preschool program is conveniently located just off S. Frederick Avenue (MD 355) and I-370, near Walnut Hill Shopping Center, Washington Grove Elementary School, Summit Hall Elementary School, and Rosemont Elementary School. Our location makes drop-off and pick-up convenient for busy families in Gaithersburg.

Program:

We are open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. We offer full-time and part-time child care for infants as young as 3 months old, toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years old. We also provide before and after school care, as well as drop-in care for families with occasional child care needs.

At Walnut Hill Kids Playhouse, every child receives well-balanced daily meals at no additional cost! We also take the health and safety of our little ones seriously and maintain a peanut-free and tree nut-free environment.

About Me:

Hello, parents! I'm the proud owner of Walnut Hill Kids Playhouse. My journey into early childhood education began when I started shadowing and helping my mother at her own daycare. I loved watching the children discover new things, express their creativity, ask questions, and explore the world around them. That experience showed me just how important the early years are in building a child's confidence and love for learning. It also inspired me to open my own daycare!

Since opening Walnut Hill Kids Playhouse, I've made open communication and strong relationships with families a priority. I want parents to have peace of mind knowing their children are receiving the care, attention, and encouragement they deserve. I am also certified in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Training (MAT). I speak both English and Urdu, and upon parents' request, I'd be happy to introduce children to Urdu through fun, age-appropriate learning activities.

Above all, I want every child to feel understood, supported, and cared for. I recognize that each child has their own personality and needs, and I do my best to make every day an opportunity to learn, laugh, explore, and grow. My hope is that Walnut Hill Kids Playhouse becomes a second home where children feel comfortable, happy, and excited to come back each day. 🤗

At Walnut Hill Kids Playhouse, we believe every child is unique, with their own personality, interests, strengths, and way of learning. Children learn naturally through play, everyday experiences, and interactions with others, so we encourage them to explore their interests, ask questions, and discover new things about themselves and the world around them.

We also believe that strong relationships between parents and caregivers play an important role in a child's development. Through open communication and teamwork, we work together with families to support each child's growth and celebrate their accomplishments, big and small. Our goal is to make every child's time with us a happy and meaningful part of their childhood, helping them develop a sense of belonging, build confidence, and gain the skills they'll need as they grow.

Daily Activities:

A typical day at Walnut Hill Kids Playhouse is filled with opportunities to learn, play, create, and make friends! Children enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities, including storytime, music and movement, arts and crafts, sensory exploration, etc. We also incorporate hands-on STEM activities that introduce early concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math, encouraging children to experiment, solve problems, and discover how things work through play.

We follow the Creative Curriculum, which supports each child's interests and developmental needs through engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences. Our activities encourage creativity, independence, and critical thinking while giving children opportunities to make discoveries and develop new skills.

Throughout the day, children also have opportunities for free play, where they can use their imagination, explore their interests, and build friendships. We encourage them to communicate, share ideas, and learn from one another in a safe and supportive environment. Most importantly, we want children to enjoy their time with us while growing more confident and developing a love for learning!
