Welcome to Columbia Park Cozy Corner! We are a bilingual daycare and preschool in the Columbia Park community of Hyattsville, MD. Our licensed child care program offers families a warm, nurturing home-based setting where young children can learn, grow, and feel comfortable throughout the day.

We’re conveniently located just off Columbia Park Rd and Kent Village Dr, with quick access to Martin Luther King Jr. Hwy (MD 704), Landover Rd (MD 202), and US 50. We’re also less than 5 minutes from Columbia Park Elementary School and Kentland Park, making our Hyattsville daycare program convenient for families who live or work nearby.

Program:

Columbia Park Cozy Corner is open year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time and part-time child care for infants as young as 2 months old, toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years old. We also offer flexible drop-in care for families who need occasional child care.

We proudly welcome children with special needs and work closely with parents to understand each child’s individual needs and determine the appropriate level of care and support. Our goal is to create an environment where every child feels safe, supported, and cared for.

Well-balanced daily meals are served to all children and are included in tuition, giving families one less thing to worry about. We maintain a peanut- and tree-nut-free environment and accept eligible child care subsidies and vouchers, helping make quality child care more accessible to families in our community. 🥰

About Me:

Hello parents! I am the owner and main caregiver at Columbia Park Cozy Corner. For over 30 years, caring for and teaching children has been my passion and purpose. As a mother, teacher, and child care provider with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, I have dedicated my life to creating a loving and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and feel at home.

I am also certified in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration (MAT), giving families added confidence that their children are being cared for in a safe and responsible environment. I take pride in bringing my experience, education, certifications, and genuine love for children into everything I do.

The trust families place in us is truly an honor, and we feel privileged to be part of their children’s early years. We look forward to learning, growing, and creating many wonderful memories together.

Curriculum:

As a Spanish-bilingual, we incorporate both Spanish and English throughout the day. Children experience two languages naturally through everyday activities, interactions, songs, stories, and routines.

Our curriculum provides a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment where children can learn at their own pace, have fun, and build friendships. Each child’s safety, health, development, and individual learning needs are at the heart of what we do.

Our goal is to make each day meaningful, help children discover the joy of learning, and build a strong foundation for the years ahead.

Daily Activities:

Our days at Columbia Park Cozy Corner include purposeful, age-appropriate play, hands-on learning, and nurturing routines in both English and Spanish. We begin with warm morning greetings, followed by circle time and calendar activities that help children settle in and get ready for the day.

Throughout the day, children participate in sensory exploration, language and literacy activities, songs and simple stories, numbers and problem-solving, fine and gross motor activities, art and creativity, social-emotional learning, dramatic play, science and discovery, and outdoor exploration.

We also provide age-appropriate opportunities for crawling, walking, movement, communication, independence, and positive social interaction. Meals, diapering when needed, rest, and quiet time are thoughtfully incorporated into each child’s day.
