About

NHCDC uses a nationally acclaimed program for Early Childhood Education known as Creative Curriculum. Our staff is involved in ongoing training and development to reach a level of excellence in this teaching and learning philosophy. The Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive early childhood educational system that emphasizes a practical, easy to understand approach to working with children. It promotes the use of interest areas as a way of providing experiences that promote cognitive, social, physical, and language development. Children who are exposed to this focus of learning are typically well prepared for moving on into kindergarten and beyond. Our curriculum runs nine months out of the year, just as Wake County Public School system does. Throughout the summer months, we switch to a "Summer Fun" curriculum! Other areas that are covered throughout the year include safety rules, positive self-image, animals, seasons, plants and community helpers. Above all, we hope to teach your child socialization skills -- the ability to get along well with others (children and adults). This is just one of the essential skills we teach that your child will use his/her entire life. It is our goal to promote a positive childcare experience for both the child and the parent.
