At Maryvale’s Early Education Centers, teachers are adept at building healthy attachments. Class sizes are small and low child to adult ratios of 4:1 allow children to learn in accordance with their own learning styles at a pace suitable to individual needs. The program introduces children to cooperative play and social skills development even as it fosters independence and self-sufficiency. Children are introduced to music, art, science and math through activities that are enjoyable, age appropriate and engaging. Children learn to follow simple one step directions and to participate as part of the class group. Maryvale’s Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs prepare children to excel in Kindergarten and beyond through developmentally appropriate activities and interactions. Teachers promote social, emotional, physical, cognitive and linguistic growth and development through a proven curriculum. Children are allowed to learn at their own pace and to participate in a variety of academic activities such as: Circle Time, phonemic awareness, number recognition, counting by rote and learning to write their first and last name. Our Preschool program also teaches children social skills such as: taking turns, manners and verbal resolution. Outdoor playtime is utilized as an extension of the learning environment, with structured opportunities for both gross and fine motor activities and free play.
