Our learning environments are physically safe, cognitively challenging, emotionally nurturing, active, and stimulating that encourage curiosity, active learning, values, problem-solving, language development, and a positive self-image. They are warm and inviting, with a multitude of developmentally appropriate materials and equipment that are aligned with our educational philosophies, the Reggio Emilia Approach and Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE).
There are six classrooms, a Piazza (a gathering place for the school community), and workspaces for individual and group play and learning. The preschool classrooms have adjacent balconies/gardens which are extensions of the children’s learning areas and are incorporated into the curriculum. Our two outdoor play areas are spacious and well-equipped with developmentally appropriate play equipment.
Another extension for our learning and discovery is the Yerba Buena Gardens neighborhood, which has a public park with beautiful gardens, tranquil waterfalls, public art, museums, a carousel, an ice skating and bowling center, and a playground and tot lot. There is also amazing architecture, a transit station, stores, cafes and restaurants, and theaters.
