About Me:
Thank you for your interest in Burnt Mills Manor Children's Place, my home daycare in Silver Spring, MD. I am the owner and main caregiver and I hold CPR & First-aid certifications. I am also a mother of 2 and now that my children are all grown-up, I decided to open my own licensed child care program. My passion and love for kids was the reason why I decided to start my own family child care program. Before opening my own daycare, I worked as a substitute caregiver at another licensed daycare.
Program:
My daycare is open year round, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. I can provide full-time child care for infants as young as 4 months, as well as toddlers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. I also run a peanut & tree-nut free environment and serve snacks to all children in my care (included in the tuition).
I took an online certification to learn about health and safety protocols. I deep clean every Friday and separate toys that children have used and put them in a separate bin.
Curriculum:
My program offers extra-curricular activities such as Arts, Music, Dance, Math, Science, Plants, Puzzles, Letters, and Reading. My space is well decorated and has colorful foam mats, educational charts posted on the walls, a library, lots of toys, and special details like pictures and art projects hanging. I not only get the children ready for school, but I make sure that they are above level.
In addition to English, I also speak Amharic and at your request, I can expose your little one to this foreign language. My home has a large fenced backyard, so your child will be able to safely enjoy their outdoor play-time!

Burnt Mills Park Kids Playhouse is conveniently located in Silver Spring, MD off Columbia Pike/Colesville Rd. I am also a few minutes away from New Hampshire Ave (route 650), University Blvd W (route 193) and the Beltway (I-495).

My 14 month old daughter has been under the care of this caregiver since she was 6 months old and I have nothing but great things to say about her care. There is attention to detail, open communication, and an emphasis on safety that has been extremely consistent our entire experience with her.

We feel so lucky to have found this provider and started with her when our daughter was 4 months old. Our daughter loves her and is thriving under her care.
