About Me:
I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 19 years of child care and early childhood education experience. I’m a mom of 2 with CPR & First-Aid certifications, and I hold a MAT certification (which allows me to safely administer medication to your child when needed). Before opening my own child care facility, I worked as an assistant for 11 years at another licensed daycare.
Finding the right fit for your little one can be challenging, especially for first-time parents. It can be stressful knowing that you will leave your child with someone you barely know. However, if you choose me, I will make sure to give your kids the needed attention and treat them as if they were my own. I want my daycare to be the extension of your family!
Curriculum:
Northwood Kiddie Cove follows the Play-based learning approach and uses an age-appropriate curriculum to help children develop their emotional, social, and intellectual skills. Our program offers a stimulating, nurturing, and active learning environment where children can learn and grow.
At our daycare, our little students participate in daily activities, such as circle time, story time, games, arts & crafts, math, reading, dancing, and music. In addition to English, I can teach your child the American Sign Language and Amharic.
Program:
My family child care and preschool program is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Mondays to Fridays. I provide full-time care for infants as young as 6 months, and both full-time and part-time care for toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. I can also accommodate occasional child care and provide drop-in care. Peanut and tree-nut free snacks are included in the tuition and served to all kids attending my program.

Northwood Kiddie Cove is located in the Northwood Park neighborhood in Silver Spring, MD. My home is near Forest Knolls Elementary School and University Blvd W (route 193). I’m very accessible to all commuters since my daycare is also close to Colesville Rd (US-29) and Capital Beltway (I-495). Perfect for your daily commute to work!

This caregiver has been a lifesaver for us. We had to switch daycares last spring and were so fortunate she became available.
Quincy has significantly improved his mobility, communication and food palate while there. It's getting better everyday and we couldn't ask for anything more.

She is the best! We have our youngest of three here and are very happy. The caregiver is excellent! She loves and cares for my 4 year old son like he's her own. My son loves it there, and can't wait to go back every day! He comes home every day with new things he's learned, including ASL signs, and his confidence has just grown so much. This caregiver is wonderfully kind, consistent and caring. My son frequently comes home with crafts where he gets to practice cutting, coloring, and working with letters. We feel so fortunate to have found this daycare. She is a caring and capable teacher who partners with caretakers to ensure everyone is working together in a child's development. Our son is always excited to go to school, and is in a great mood when we pick him up (though sometimes tired from all the fun he has!) The provider is incredibly warm, caring and kind. She has a big heart for children and it shows. Her beautiful house is full of love and light. She is knowledgeable, respectful and wise. She educates children and enhances their lives with the right amount of structured learning and free play. I have no qualms about my trust in her with my one and only child. The caregiver had the biggest impact on my daughter’s development in her time at her facility. It was where my daughter started to talk, feed herself, start reading, and have immensely increased her socialization skills with her age group. We are so happy with this daycare program. She is a warm and loving caregiver, and her home is bright and clean. Our son and daughter both attended full time, and thrived during their time with her. They learned many words in sign language, how to count to 10 in two languages, and the lyrics of many children's songs. Both of our children have loved playing with their fellow students. We feel so lucky to have found her and her daycare!!

My daughter has been attending this daycare since she was 3 months old. She suffered from severe reflux for many months so needless to say I was very nervous about putting my baby in daycare. She is warm and loving toward my 3 year old son. She provides safety, structure and has a great curriculum. She always has fun activities for them to do throughout the day.
