Hi, parents! Welcome to Paint Branch Little Cottage, in Silver Spring MD! I'm the owner and lead teacher of this nurturing child care and early childhood education program. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPR & First-aid certifications, as well as 15 years of child care experience. As a mother of two, I understand your concerns and the importance of finding a second home for your little ones.

Paint Branch Little Cottage is located off E Randolph Rd in the quiet Paint Branch Estates neighborhood. We're close to major roadways, including New Hampshire Ave (Route 650), Columbia Pike (US Route 29), and the Intercounty Connector Toll Road (MD State Route 200), ensuring easy access for working families. Our facility is perfectly located, offering the opportunity for children to explore the outdoors at nearby Valley Mill Special Park and Cannon Road Local Park. The daycare is also located near William Tyler Page Elementary and Cannon Road Elementary School.

At Paint Branch Little Cottage, we follow a play-based learning approach, allowing children to learn through the joy of play. Our goal is to have a curriculum tailored to individual needs, encompassing age-appropriate activities that support each child's developmental requirements. We focus on fostering respectful interactions, as well as ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the children under our care. Our program offers two outdoor play sessions, during which children engage in supervised play in our age-appropriate playground.

Our daycare and preschool program operates year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 6:00pm. We offer full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 2 weeks to 6 years old). Additionally, we provide drop-in child care options for families with occasional needs. Our daily schedule is designed to provide a structured routine for children, with activities such as free play, learning in small groups and one-on-one, circle time, story time, outdoor activities, meals, and more. The schedule is flexible to ensure it can be adapted to meet the unique needs of each child, including those with disabilities and special health requirements. Infants have their own individualized schedule for napping, diaper changes, and feeding to cater to their specific needs and routines. This approach ensures that all children receive the personalized care and attention they require throughout the day.

Paint Branch Little Cottage program prioritizes the creation of a nurturing and inclusive environment for both children and their families. We promote children's laughter, learning, and growth while supporting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Our positive discipline policy prohibits any form of physical punishment and instead emphasizes offering choices, promoting manners through polite requests, diverting attention to positive activities when challenges arise, and ensuring children understand and follow simple rules.
