Sherwood Forest Playhouse is a licensed family child care and preschool program in Silver Spring, MD. My home daycare is in the Sherwood Forest Manor neighborhood, near Westover Elementary School.
My child care facility is very accessible for your commute since I’m right off Randolph Rd and a few minutes’ drive away from all major roads: New Hampshire Ave (route 650), Maryland State Route 200 (Connector Toll Road), Columbia Pike (US-29), and Georgia Ave (route 97).
About Me
I’m the owner and main caregiver of this nurturing and safe early education program. I’m a mom of 3, so I have first-hand child care experience with my own kids. Before opening my own facility, I worked at 2 different daycares.
I just enjoy working with kids – seeing them grow and making a difference in their lives is so rewarding! In addition to my credentials, I’m also CPR & First-aid certified, leaving you at peace that your little one is safe with me at all times.
Program
Sherwood Forest Playhouse is open all year from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer a Play-based learning program and full-time care for children between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old.
All children in my care are provided with snacks (included in the tuition). If weather permits, I bring the kids to my private playground to enjoy outdoor playtime. I can teach the Amharic language in addition to English, however, please note that my daycare is not a bilingual program.

As first time parents, especially during a pandemic, finding a daycare provider for our baby was a huge task. We are soooo grateful that we found this provider at Sherwood Forest Playhouse.

The provider has been so amazing to NAthan. we are happy we found her. Natu wants to stay longer and play with her when we always try to pick him up!

This provider is a passionate, energetic and great Daycare Assistant. The provider understands the kids need and enjoy being around them. I was always confident that my son is in a good hand when he is with her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is interested in her service.
